Degree: Healthcare Administration

I was enrolled in the flexpath masters of Healthcare Administration program at Capella and I honestly wish that I never was. They still have my last name incorrect even though I sent the forms multiple times to change it (months later). I submitted the appropriate paperwork for withdraw to Capella and they did not process it until two months later! I showed them proof of my timely and adequate withdraw and they ignored it. Now I have a balance of $3,000 because of their mistakes, and they want to... Read More

I did not pay attention to what other people said and I made a mistake enrolling in Capella. My experience with academic coaches and financial aid department was bad. After realizing that I had picked the wrong major I attempted to process a change of program and my academic coach never did. Do not enroll in Flex path if you are not a person who is going to work fast, otherwise they will charge you for courses you are not taking. Very disappointing.

This is an online college, therefore you must be self motivated to complete the work. I work a full time job, have a family, and handled a full load with Capella while maintaining a 4.0. I've read some negative reviews about this school and I completely disagree. You get what you give and as long as you do the work (correctly), you'll do well. My only negative is the finance department. They were a bit difficult to initially deal with. I have been out of school awhile and was somewhat lost in the... Read More

Being a mother of two active boys ,advancing my education further , seemed impossible . But Capella provided me with an opportunity to not only study but also advance my career with their flexible schedule. I could not be happier. Furthermore, I have received two promotions since I graduated and what do you know! My job is partnered with Capella as well.

The university staff is very prompt, professional, and informative. The university offers programs paced to fit the needs of all students. I finished my degree on the fast track at my own pace. This made it possible for me to complete as many courses as I possibly could for just one flat rate instead of being charged by class. It was very demanding this way and took great time management skills. It was worth it and saved me a great amount of money and time overall to complete the degree. I looked... Read More

Capella University has been a great online college. I was very hesitant at first to enroll in an online only classroom setting; however, everyone from the enrollment advisor, financial aid reps, and academic advisors have been very helpful in guiding me. I only have great things to say to anyone that may be looking to return to school in an online only capacity.

Shortly after getting my BSN, I began contemplating if I should pursue a MSN degree. I knew that I did not want to sit in a classroom anymore so I looked into online programs. During my search I found the Capella website user friendly. I was able to have most of my questions answered from the website. However, once I spoke with an admissions advisor (B. N.) I decided to enroll. He was very encouraging. Also, I liked that I could access a class on a trial basis to determine if Capella was for me.

When I began researching possible Masters levels school, the selection is overwhelming. They all have their selling points. What works for YOU? That's the school you need to be involved in. I am so pleased with Capella. The professors are all awesome and make you think, dig down and really resolve/understand the assignments. I did in fact try one of those schools that you go at your own pace but was totally left out there. Just pay your money and turn your papers in. Then I found Capella. Everyone... Read More

The experience I had while attending the MHA program through Capella University was both challenging and rewarding. The program is designed to build upon your professional experiences and it introduces you to new concepts that will serve you well in today's healthcare environment. I researched a number of online programs and felt that Capella fit both my lifestyle as well as my academic expectations as well. The program is competency based which I have found especially helpful as it helps me as a... Read More

Financial aid was quick to respond back to my questions and helped me make sure I was accepting the correct amount each semester. The professor's that I had were all there to help you succeed. The program was designed well and taught me many things that I will carry into my new career as a practice manager. Capella is a great school, but requires hard work in the students part.

The school feeds you with a guided path and help along the way to achieving your degree. The only help Capella provides is when they sign you up for loans that you don't even know you're agreeing to, which once you enroll you can't withdraw from class, they will say you can but keep you in the class to keep your financial aid money. When you ask about it they say they withdrew you, but you will have an F on transcript and they will say they had to grade the work at the time you withdrew on the whole... Read More

I am very pleased with Capella. The initial school advisors and my assigned advisor were/ are very helpful. Like all things, you get out of it what you put in to it. I find the course work challenging and my instructors knowledgeable and responsive. The quality of some of the other students work is not graduate level. Perhaps stricter admitting requirements would help. All in all, I have learned a great deal and the leadership concentration is competency based. I would prefer a brick and mortar school... I went to this school because I already had the experience and I wanted to further my career. I attend classes online because it's very convenient. All I can is if you are already working with your company and you wanted to obtain a master's or doctorate degree to grow or move to another position, Capella may be a great choice. Capella is very easy. It's easy to get an "A" with doing minimal work. If you are fresh out of high school, you may want to think about going to an reputable school and take... Read More

I read other reviews before enrolling in this program and I decided to ignore them, that is why I am writing this review. They all said that they did not learn anything and it was a lot of money for a piece of paper and I totally agree. If you want to get a masters with little effort and little learning than this is the program for you. I did enjoy getting 100 on every single assignment I submitted with little effort. But I would have enjoyed a good education as well. Just remember this when you... Read More

Overall I had a very nice experience with Capella. Yes it is relatively expensive but that should be expected when youre trying to get a higher degree (the higher the degree, the higher the price of tuition it seems...). The classes were nicely formatted and were very much appropriate to the healthcare field; all of the topics were relevant and very beneficial to both my individual and professional development.

I've noticed some complaining about the quality of the education and the design of the... Read More
