Virginia College Online

In the beginning couple years, things were pretty on track learning wise. The school then did have new students take courses acclimating them to the Word Suite, excel, power point, etc. After 1.5 years of terms I began reading from other students who were having issues doing the necessary paperwork that they had not taken such courses. Then on top of not being able with time changes in the U.S. to contact a professor was verging on silly. Then when you did reach one..too late usually, they put it off on you for not being more prompt getting help...even though I personally did. To the point of writing letters to get help with the issue. The only thing I got for my $54 grand bill was learning how to do Word Perfect and the Suite programs, plus Intuit and Quicken books. Bet I could have gotten them at the bookstore cheaper than a tuition. Not saying it wasn't fun and time consuming; educational enough to land a decent job. Not so much. The help promised in attaining a position to pay back the tuition was sorely lacking. I believe I got a resume help. Definitely not worth the price..sorry to have to be truthful here. I'm older I know..age discrimination and all, but I've gotten no bites except the same convenience stores I worked at for over 20 years prior to the 10 years I gave up working...because of convenience stores. Great help that degree did not.

I am currently a student here and I am also a student with a 3.9 cumulative GPA. It is a constant hassle to get anything from the school. If you need more than a passing question answered then it is few and far between that and teacher or staff will or knows the answer. If you need to speak with someone in the financial officer, they are quick to take your money or sign you up for loans but anything else they defer to a department that students cannot speak with. Most instructors barely speak with... Read More students and more than once a teacher will grade but not tell you how to improve so it's like your on your own. Overall this school is very impersonal and makes you feel that you are just part of a group rather than an individual. This is absolutely the worst school I have ever been to or associated with, the only reason that I am still a student is because I'm already so I vested and I just want to get done with my degree.
