Degree: Public Safety Management

I am a part-time student, working full-time in the IT field. I came back to finish my Bachelor's degree so that I could better advance my career. I am not interested in being one of the millions of Americans with College debts so I am paying for my classes as I go. The advisory team seems to have to perform some type of "one-off" because I am not taking financial aid, making me feel as if I were a second-class student. I have had multiple instructors in their IT departments tell the classes to "got... Read More

Degree: Secondary Education

I’ve been in the Alt-A M.Ed program at West Alabama for a year and was supposed to start my student teaching internship at the start of next semester (Fall ‘21), but have now been forced to delay until Spring ‘22 because the program advisor failed to sign my application (which I submitted over a month before it was due) by the deadline. Degree: English

I was enrolled in the online Master of Arts in Teaching program and loved the experience at UWA. I liked the small class size, for it was easy to communicate with with peers and faculty. All course faculty had doctorate degrees. My courses were challenging, and faculty were engaged in the course. From admissions to financial aid to the graduation process, staff were professional, efficient, and caring.

Degree: Elementary Education

Graduated with an Education Specialist Degree (Ed.S.) Most of the classes had the same expectations and caseload, although there were some differences. Most of the instructors were prompt in issuing grades and feedback. Do not purchase books from their book store, Amazon is cheaper. Overall, it was a good experience.

Degree: Library Technology

It was a convenient online degree. It was stressful being watched on camera while taking a test however. I'm not sure that the degree adequately prepared me for the real job I'm in now however.
