University of Central Florida

At the University of Central Florida, I obtained my Bachelors Degree of Science in Interdisciplinary, August 2016. My focus was on humanities, public administration and mathematics. Within the Interdisciplinary program, there was an exposure to not just one subject but multiple. Unlike the traditional degree program, a student can focus on different subjects that may enable to gather skills necessary for a variety of jobs. Within public administration, there was an emphasis on public administration, public policy formulation, public finance problem solving, program development, implementation and valuation, human resources and labor relations, leadership through service to others, management strategies, and critical thinking. Within mathematics, there was a study of quantities, forms, and symbolic logic in such subjects as algebra, geometry, calculus, logic, topology, and number theory. My overall experience was online. I feel that the instructors were available and the program design was organized. My degree audit allowed me the opportunity to remain on track and take the classes needed to obtain my degree. The financial aid office was the only problem I experienced within my time at UCF. I continually had to remain on the financial aid office and have multiple follow ups regarding receiving my aid by the deadline. Otherwise my experience at UCF was rewarding and it allowed me to go to not only one of the largest colleges in the US but also graduate and become an alumni.

I am completely satisfied with the University of Central Florida. I earned my bachelor's degree in criminal justice completely online. I also earned an certificate in criminal profiling as well. The professors and staff were extremely helpful throughout my academic program.The people of UCF were also extremely accommodating to my physical disability. Thanks to the knowledge I obtained from the University, I can now move on to graduate school and achieve my dream of becoming a psychological profiler... Read More for law enforcement. I would highly recommend UCF to anyone interested in pursuing an education in criminal justice.

I did Direct Connect, a program where if you are accepted to UCF from the local Junior College, you enter in as a junior. Classes were offered at the same junior college for UCF as there are UCF campuses sharing the junior college campus. Some of the students are very involved. I was not able to be as involved because I worked daytime hours and could only attend evening courses. Most instructors were able to communicate with on a regular basis and even when I was having trouble, the professors worked... Read More with me. Though tuition was a little pricy, overall the school is great. I plan on returning!

UCF is a great school if you are the majority and not the minority. While this school offer great academic programs, the lack of support for its minority students almost supersedes its academics abilities. I was a straight A student for most of my UCF career, but did not receive any financial support from the college. Instead, funds are used towards the athletic programs.
