Yes, the University of Arizona is legitimate. Employers largely respect online degrees, and transcripts generally do not even state how instruction was delivered as long as the school is accredited. Accreditation is important because it signifies that business and academic practices at an institution of higher learning have been thoroughly reviewed by an independent body and meet high standards. 

The U of A is accredited by WASC Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC). Additionally, the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CNURED) programmatically accredits U of A’s bachelor’s degrees in nursing.

U of A is known as a land-grant university, providing research-based programs and resources for state residents. It’s also a diverse university, with 46% of its student body coming from diverse backgrounds. For example, Arizona is home to 22 federally recognized tribes. Tucson itself is home to the O’odham and the Yaqui. U of A strives to build positive relationships with these sovereign Native Nations and Indigenous communities through partnerships, community services, and educational offerings. 

U of A’s STEM degrees (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) provide the highest earnings for graduates, according to federal data. Specifically, mining and engineering degrees have the highest median earnings at $87,557. Computer science, electrical, aerospace, and systems engineering degrees have median salaries above $75,000.

U of A is considered a good school by its students, who are regularly surveyed by the institution. According to its most recent 2022 survey, 90% of online students would recommend the school to others. Approximately 70% feel engaged and that the school offers online platforms that foster student interactions. Eighty-four percent think that their advisors are supportive, and 82% feel they are treated fairly and equitably by faculty. 

Ninety-one percent of students surveyed also said if they had to do it all over again, they’d still choose U of A.

It’s not necessarily difficult to get into U of A. It accepts 85% of applicants. While the school considers college entrance exam scores, it does not require them, making enrollment less competitive.

The admission requirements for U of A are similar to other schools. Applying requires creating an online account, completing the application, and paying the $65 application fee. You must then submit official transcripts from all previously attended colleges and universities, including military institutions and Joint Service transcripts, either electronically or via mail. If you haven’t previously earned an associate degree, you’ll also need to submit your official high school or GED transcripts.
