Transfer and Career Pathways 

SJDC offers eight Transfer and Career Pathways (TrACs) to help students achieve their academic and career goals. Each TrAC comes with a team of professors, counselors, librarians, and coaches who assist students within each pathway. Some examples of TrACs are health and fitness, communication and languages, and business and law. 

Equity-Minded Honors Program

SJDC’s Equity-Minded Honors Program provides academic leadership, personal development, a high level of scholarship, and service opportunities. This program helps challenge students’ academic abilities and strengthen their transfer application to four-year colleges. Students must contact their professors to create an enhanced work plan and Honors Options Contract. 

According to College Scorecard data, SJDC has two fields of study offered in the form of associate degrees that provide the highest median annual earnings for graduates:

(1) Health services, allied health, health sciences (~$52,300) 

(2) Criminal justice and corrections (~$36,600) 

Within these two fields are several online associate degrees prospective students can pursue, including an Associate of Science in Accounting, an Associate of Arts in Early Childhood Education, and an Associate of Arts in World Languages and Global Studies. 

SJDC accepts 100% of applicants. The community college's open admissions policy means that the school admits every student who submits a completed application. An open admissions policy is especially helpful for students facing challenges due to low academic performance or test scores. 

Prospective students who are interested in enrolling in SJDC’s online associate degree programs must complete the community college’s online admission process. SJDC’s applications open up three times yearly for spring, summer, and fall semesters. Before starting the application process, applicants must decide which type of student they are (first-time, returning, dual enrollment, or previous college student).
