My only disappointment is the lax attitude toward diversity and diversity education. Often time minority... Read More students do not feel welcome or safe due to hate crimes. The administration says little to nothing about the incidents. Purdue is a wonderful place to get an education, but needs direction when it comes to diversity and inclusion.

I'm about 2/3 of the way finished with Purdue's online MS in Communication program. In all, I'd say I'm pretty pleased with it. The instructors are very smart and thoughtful -- although be mindful that it's not the same faculty that they have on-campus,... Read More as they've advertised in their marketing of the program. That said, I've been very happy with the quality of the instructors overall. The degree requires a good deal of work, but it's really fulfilling and, for the most, relevant to my current career in marketing/PR. One huge plus about the program is the structure. You only take one, 8-week, intensive class at a time. From a work/school balance standpoint, it's a great system. My only complaint would be that the technology they use for the degree isn't always great. They require students to use video presentation software that, frankly, doesn't even work. So expect hours of headaches every single time you need to present material to your classmates. Great program otherwise!

Read More The program I was accepted into was distance learning and was perfect for my busy work schedule having to travel on a moments notice. I was able to take the lectures with me and watch them from home, at lunch if in the office, or from my hotel room if I was travelling. Interacting with the professors was never a problem. They are all very responsive to email and are aware of their distance learning students and will accommodate them in however fairly they can. I highly recommend a distance learning degree program. It has enabled me to land my dream job working as a Business Process Improvement Managers, where I get to be a part of all the departments in my company and work as a consultant to each to try and develop and improve difficult or problematic processes.
