Purdue University Global

I initially learned about Purdue Global because the company I work for offered a certification through the university. My company paid for 98% of the tuition and I completed four ten-weeks sessions with a 4.0 GPA. I then applied for a scholarship for the bachelor's program through my company and was accepted. After learning about the experiential learning program, I decided to pay my own tuition for it, and was awarded nearly 40 credits upon completion. The ExcelTrack program at Purdue was not covered... Read More by my employer so I applied for student loans and completed my degree within less than two years of starting. This program was amazing. It took a lot of hard work, a lot of essay writing, and a lot of discipline but I earned my bachelor of science degree in a very short period of time and for less than $15,000. My experience at Purdue Global was nothing short of miraculous. After feeling like an educational failure for the past 35 years, I finally completed something that I had desperately desired. The professors at Purdue Global were, almost without fail, helpful, responsive, and encouraging. I graduated on December 23, 2022, Magna Cum Laude. If you are able to work independently, follow directions, and consistently turn out decent essays, you can complete your degree very quickly and very economically. I also took individual regular courses and the pace was incredibly doable for me. I so enjoyed my experience at Purdue Global, that I am currently enrolling for the MBA ExcelTrack program. I expect to complete my Master's degree in less than a year. The critical reviews I have seen here seem to be primarily the fault of the students who are writing them. If you can't follow directions, read the rules, or understand the expectations of secondary education, that is on you. There were no surprises as far as what I was required to do as a student and plenty of timely communication if I failed to meet a requirement or deadline. As far as gatekeeping on the ExcelTrack program, that is not entirely accurate. Yes, you are required to wait for a grade on each individual class assignment before you can go on to the next module, but you can take as many different classes as you want each semester. I took four to five. So when one module was turned in for one class, while I awaited that grade, I could work on a module from another class. There was no downtime for me. My goal was to complete 3-5 modules per week and I never had to wait to continue. You are required to complete the Capstone as a separate and individual ten-week class but that allows time to focus on the somewhat expanded requirements of that course. I can proudly say that I am a graduate of Purdue University Global and would (and have) recommended it to any prospective adult student who is ready to finally get their degree.

I'm writing this so that if you are thinking about attending this school, that you do this so that you don't go through what I'm going through. In September, Lee County was hit by hurricane Ian and we had no electricity or internet for quite some time, so I called the school, asking if they could put me on a leave of absence, ( I called two different times about this and spoke to two different people ) who both said that I was fine to go on my leave until January. Well, come January, they now tell... Read More me that I never had a leave submitted and that I was dropped for not attending school. Just imagine how I feel right now. I'm hoping they go back to their phone calls, since they're recorded and can see that I did call but realistically they're not going to. Then to find out that I had a block on my account from an issue that was dealt with over a year ago. I did have a few good professors and its a great online schedule, but when you have issues arise, good luck, and make sure you go above and beyond to make sure other people are doing their jobs because if not, you'll be like me. Now I have to wait another month to start school, when I shouldn't have even had to wait at all.

Purdue University Global has allowed me to attain personal development in a field outside of my current roles and responsibilities. The personal growth that this has provided me will allow me to pursue a variety of opportunities. The classes were informative, and I was allowed to apply the concepts I learned on real world business assignments that had a direct impact and improvement on my job. I have had a great experience at Purdue in both my undergrad and MBA program. The instructors were both knowledgeable and had real world experience. All of my instructors were helpful and always willing to help me succeed. I also had a great advisor who was willing to give me advice and was concerned about my success. I used the tutoring lab several times and it was always a positive experience. I have really enjoyed my time at Purdue and though it was a challenge I feel enriched and well educated...
