Liberty University

I've read the other reviews and I'll just say the online degrees are not for everyone. It's a lot of reading and self teaching. For me this is perfect because I don't like being micromanaged and I can divide my time and learning according to my own schedule... Read More (mom of 3 here). I also have 9 years experience in my field (sales, banking, customer service, finance) so the material is interesting and repetitive for me so far. I like the 8 week terms because even though it's more rigorous, I only have to worry about 2 classes at a time instead of 4 or 5 at a time. It also motivates me to follow through; I'm better with mini goals instead of long term commitments. I do like the incorporation of biblical world view. This is one of the main reasons I chose this college. It is a bit of extra work on top of the rigorous 8 week terms, but it's important for me in my personal life to include God in everything. For people complaining about response times from professors and difference of opinions, this is actual real life experience you are getting. I've worked in the corporate world where there are deadlines, slow response times, and different personality types. You need to find what works best in helping you navigate each class and each professor. It this isn't possible, accept your average grade and do better next time or move on to a different college that better fits your needs (and I mean this in the nicest way possible <3 )

I am enjoying learning at Liberty University. It is a great school. I would recommend this school to anyone, plus the tuition is low and affordable. Liberty University is not a high school or a community college. The professors are not supposed to hold your hand but rather guide and point you in the right direction. It is the student's responsibility to follow their recommendations. I read one person's review, and they complained about having to write papers in APA format. Of course, one must write academic papers in APA/MLA format. Again, Liberty University is an institution of higher learning, and one should expect or want to write scholarly papers that showcase high academic proficiency. Liberty University is a good school. The university/institution is regionally accredited, and most of its educational programs are accredited. Another student complained about writing or incorporating Christian views in assignments. What did they expect? After all, Liberty University is a Christian school – with the motto "Training Champions for Christ." Maybe college is not everyone.

I absolutely love everything about the school and highly recommend it to anyone whether they come from a faith based background or not. In 2016 I completed my BS online there in interdisciplinary studies focusing on psychology and early childhood education... Read More and I returned last year to complete my masters in Human Services Counseling- Executive Leadership. The faculty and professors have all been extremely helpful and supportive. I’ve even spoken to a couple of professors over the phone that helped walk me through specific assignments that I was having trouble with. The classes are very much applicable to the real world and are packed into 8 weeks of intense coursework but that is to be expected for quality education. The cost is comparable to any other university and just like any other university they expect payment… I know that’s a real shocker for some. I’ve noticed multiple negative reviews from the same individuals on this site which makes me wonder what their real motive is behind the review.
