This is my second degree. I've had lot of experience with teaching and taking online classes. The quality of curriculum and teachers is substandard. In two years I've had one excellent teacher. Most grading is arbitrary with little to no explanation. Teacher don't seem to know the content, probably because most of them are adjunct and walk into teaching blind. This online culinary certificate program is incredibly hard to grasp. I feel as though I was learning culinary on YouTube. Reaching out takes at least a day to get any help you have a week to complete your modules and I feel bad for anybody who has not taken culinary before because really really difficult to get this done. The expectation that this takes 15 to 20 hours a week is not correct.

Don't let you take 4 classes your first semester. Throws your plan off if you need increments of 4. Then when you want to take a few extra classes for fun tell you that you can't use financial aid for them. Then question why you would want to keep full time status with 4 classes. Waited until a few weeks before classes start to tell you this information. Take forever to dispurse your financial aid to your account to help cover costs like books and supplies. I have a 4 year food science degree with JWU, foolishly i thought there grad program would be as good as their undergrad. i started their online undergrad program only to come to find out it’s one of the biggest money scams i have ever come to face. The JWU online grad program is unorganized unsupportive, has professors that do no teach or provide help for students when asked. unresponsive staff does not disclose full information waste of money
