I had to write another review. I just can't understand why people think it's possible to put in 10% of the work you'd have to put in if you were in a classroom somewhere. Grantham NEVER applied for more aid than necessary. What they plan to apply for... Read More is CLEARLY posted online after you log into your account. You have to electronically sign it BEFORE they will actually commit to the funding plan. If you don't agree with it then they state for you to call them so it can be discussed and be more suited to the individuals needs. These people think the admin is supposed to do all the work! It is very clear that some students just aren't cut out for online education. These are the same people who would NEVER be disciplined enough to have a work-from-home career/job/employment. It's truly sad that people are just that lazy and want everything handed to them instead of putting forth AT LEAST 100%. EXPECT A NEGATIVE EXPERIENCE IF YOU PLAN TO GIVE ANY LESS!
There is a negative review of the Financial Aid Dept. at Grantham University. My experience with the FA Dept was, without a doubt, extremely simple and easy. It was PAINLESS. I can say it did have the potential to be stressful, frustrating, and negative.... Read More What makes the difference between a positive and negative experience with Grantham FA Dept had everything to do with responding to the emails they sent when there was paperwork or action needed to be addressed. Had I not responded to those requests, which were by email mainly, I would not have received my Federal Aid on time and would have needed to postpone my actual start date. The attention needed throughout the FA process and my classes/courses was exactly the same. You have to do the work, the school wasn't going to do the work for me! That's simply common sense. You get out of something what you put into it. If you don't do what's expected of you then you can't expect the other end to do what's expected of them. It's just that simple! I'm not exactly sure what the issue was with the individual who gave a very negative review of GU's FA Dept. but I can say they were very diligent, helpful, and informative throughout the whole Financial Planning/Aid process. I'm sure GU did something right or positive with their FA process but only commented on how terrible they were. Since almost all the reviews were positive, just as mine was, it appears the issue was with the student. They couldn't possibly do well with everyone else except one person. The record speaks for itself. I do apologize for such a lengthy review but I thought it important & relevant to convey my experience. To all the prospective GU student who may need financial aid, DO NOT BE DETERRED BY THAT NEGATIVE REVIEW. I'm certain your experience will be just a seamless, efficient, simple, and effective as mine. I mean this only as constructive criticism. Learning how to write well, use correct grammar, punctuate, and spell never hurt anyone. Actually it makes for a more reader friendly experience. I wish you the best with continuing you education.
My experience with this institution was very positive. The educational materials provided were more than adequate. Acceptance of previously earned college credit and military training was more than fair. Instructors and staff always responded to my questions... Read More in a timely manner.
