Is Everglades University Legitimate?

Yes, EU is legitimate because it has been verified by a U.S. Department of Education-recognized accrediting board. Accreditation simply means a school has undergone a rigorous review process, which determines whether its financial practices are sound and ethical, its academic programs are of high quality, and it can deliver on promises made to students. In order to provide lists of online schools you can trust, OnlineU only includes accredited institutions on its site. EU is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) to award associate, baccalaureate, master's, doctoral degrees, and certificates.

What Is Everglades University Known For?

EU is known for its unique online academic programs. For example, it was one of the first colleges in the country to offer a bachelor's degree in alternative medicine. It also offers degree programs in aviation, alternative and renewable energy management, construction management, and crisis and disaster management. All of these degrees are 100% online.

Who Owns Everglades University?

EU was originally owned by Arthur and Belinda Keiser, who purchased American Flyers, Inc. in 1998. Eventually, it became EU in 2000. In 2002, the IRS recognized EU as a nonprofit institution, and it became independently operated by its Board of Trustees. The Keisers now serve as the Chancellor and Vice Chancellor of EU.

Which Degrees at Everglades University Provide the Highest Earnings for Graduates?

Based on federal data from College Scorecard, EU's online construction management and air transportation degrees provide the highest earnings for graduates, who earn a median annual salary of approximately $76,600 and $64,400, respectively.

Additionally, EU has salary scores of 34 for online bachelor's degrees and 13 for online master's degrees. OnlineU's proprietary Salary Score ranks colleges by how much their alumni earn compared to graduates with the same degrees across the country.

EU has helped me by giving me the education and tools to further my professional career. They constantly communicated with me when I wasn't doing well and always encouraged me to never give up. I am now working as a project manager for an engineering company, in my field, because my degree allowed me to obtain licensure in the surveying field.

Sadly, I did not have a good experience with EU. I've tried to complete the BS in Alternative Medicine degree twice now; and I always have to stop attending over financial discrepancy, lies and lack of accountability of the school. I can rarely get any answers from EU, much less a straight answer; and have been shuffled around only to feel frustrated and disappointed. The first time I attended I had to drop out of the program because the school wanted to keep ALL my financial aide and I needed it... Read More

I first joined Everglades University in January of 2022. I remember talking to an admissions counselor, who had me all fired up to join this university and pursue my dreams in aviation. She made sure I would get to where I needed to be now. If it was not for Everglades, my dreams of joining the aviation industry would not be a reality today. As I was approaching my final classes in my program, I interviewed for a position at St. Petersburg/Clearwater International Airport and was hired as Airport... Read More

I began my interest in alternative medicine when I was very little when my grandmother taught me the health benefits of putting your hands in the soil. My grandmother knows all about health, and she is still alive at 101 years old today! I wanted to learn an approach to health that was not western medicine, so I studied alternative medicine. I like taking the four-week classes so that I can just focus on only one class at a time. I like the small class size. I remember when it was just me and Dr.... Read More
