DU is online and offers 12 associate and 15 bachelor's degrees that distance learners can complete entirely remotely. Undergraduates enroll throughout DU's online degrees in majors such as organizational leadership studies, emergency management, health services management, and psychology.

Employers respect DU's online degrees because of the school's favorable accreditation status. DU is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission, an institutional accreditation agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. This accreditation means that DU has ethical accounting practices and provides high quality academic programming.

DU's online programs rival those offered on campus, providing the same instruction, rigor, and outcomes. Additionally, it may be helpful to understand that transcripts and diplomas generally don't state whether degrees are completed remotely, so students don't have to disclose this information to prospective employers if they don't want to.

Many would agree that DU is a good college. According to federal data from College Scorecard, it has a 78% retention rate, meaning most students return after their first year. It also has a higher-than-average graduation rate. Also, in addition to its favorable institutional accreditation status, many of DU's professional programs are accredited because their curriculum meets current industry standards and employer expectations.

However, while DU may be excellent academically, attending may create financial hardship for some. Its median earnings are somewhat low at approximately $37,500 — about $10,000 below average for all four-year schools.

DU is known for its unique approach to learning. Its curriculum offers students a mixture of life and career credentials to help them pursue intellectual passions and career goals once they graduate. 

Although DU is affiliated with the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), it doesn't appear to promote religious teaching through its curriculum overtly. DU's bachelor's degrees in accounting, finance, architecture, and business administration provide the highest earnings based on College Scorecard. Graduates earn median annual salaries of approximately $61,700, $56,300, $55,300, and $73,287, respectively. A business administration degree is the only degree available online. However, it does offer coursework in accounting and finance.

DU has a low bachelor's degree Salary Score of 20 out of 100 and 10 for its master's degree programs. Its online bachelor's degree in history has the highest Salary Score at 60.

It's not as hard to get into DU as some other colleges and universities though it is somewhat competitive. It accepts 70% of applicants, and although it doesn't require entrance exams, it will consider them. Admitted students who chose to take entrance exams had combined SAT scores between 1030 and 1250 and ACT scores between 21 and 29. 

In 2022, first-year students had an average 3.79 GPA, and 89% were in the top half of their class.

DU's first-year admission requirements are similar to other colleges and universities. Those applying to college as undergraduate students must generally submit the following:
