FAQs About DeVry University
Is DeVry University Completely Online?
DeVry University primarily hosts online degree programs. However, over 20 campus locations are spread throughout the country, the majority of which are in California, along with several at the school's headquarters in Illinois. While there are both local and remote learning options for students, most of DeVry's students study online. According to data from the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES), 95-97% of students are enrolled exclusively in distance learning programs.
Do Employers Recognize DeVry Degrees?
The first thing employers look at when it comes to an applicant's degree is whether the school they attended is accredited. An accredited school has been vetted by a third-party agency to ensure it meets the national education standards. Each school listed on the OnlineU site is legitimate and accredited.
DeVry University is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission, an institutional accreditation agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. Graduates should note that employers won't know if they've earned their degree online or in person because DeVry, like most institutions of higher learning, does not label its diplomas in such a way.
What Is DeVry University Known For?
DeVry is best known for its Keller Graduate School of Management, where students can engage in flexible, 100% online master's degrees — particularly in the field of business. The MBA is one of its most popular programs because it can be completed in as little as ten courses, and it allows students to incorporate graduate certificate credits along the way. This includes areas of study such as project management, human resources, and accounting. Along with DeVry University, the Keller Graduate School of Management is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission.
Which Degrees at DeVry Provide the Highest Earnings for Graduates?
According to the Department of Education's College Scorecard, the highest earning degree at DeVry University is its online Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology. Students who graduate from this program can expect to earn a median annual salary of ~$67,500 after three years. Another high earning degree is the Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Systems, where students can earn ~$57,900.
OnlineU's proprietary Salary Score metric, which compares alumni salaries of the same degrees from different schools, is another way to determine a graduate's potential earnings. Out of a score from 1 to 100, DeVry has a 55 at the bachelor's level and 34 at the master's level.
How Difficult Is It To Get Into DeVry?
The best way to determine if a school is difficult to get into is its acceptance rate. College Scorecard shows that DeVry has a 44% acceptance rate, putting it below the roughly 60% national average. This means that less than half of the applicants are accepted into one of its programs. Another barrier to entry may be the school's application fee, which currently sits at $30.
What Are the Admission Requirements for DeVry?
In order to apply to college at DeVry, students at least 17 years old must have earned a GED or high school diploma. Additionally, the minimum GPA is 2.0 for all undergraduate applicants.
Online students must complete the following steps to apply:
- Fill out DeVry University's online application.
- Submit additional documents to the admissions counselor, such as transcripts, proof of graduation, or proof of college credits.
- College entrance exams are not explicitly required, although applicants must prove their college-level skills by submitting at least one of the following: SAT or ACT scores, previous college credits, or placement scores from a DeVry-administered test.

I was excited to attend Devry. However Devry uses outdated materials like 5years old and in tech that’s huge. I’ve been in school over 1.5 years and have no option for an assortment degree. Though I have learned some I do not feel prepared for the work industry that I should be entering with a certificate in 5 months. They make you believe a certificate is good enough however all the jobs I looked at are requiring a degree. Very disappointed in Devry.

I enrolled because the online programs were at your own pace and that is not true. I work 13 hour days 4 days a week and the weekend and Mondays are the only days I can catch up on my schoolwork. I was dropped from a class because I didn’t “participate enough”. I work a full time from 6:30 am to 8:00 pm and it is hard.

My advisor is inadequate and incompetent to guide me through the educational situation, I have not spoken or heard from that guy so I just refuse to contact him. whom ever he is surely is not tracking my education and should be the first to compliment and give supporting advice on staying on Deans list because of him I believe I waisted a lot of my time with this school doing subjects I have done already and regret being present for this journey. I am not very happy at all but just keep pressing... Read More

I came to Devry only because I was granted a scholarship and I had a military discount which was supposed to make my tuition free. I started the semester and was told to wait for my scholarship to clear in my account because it takes time. Fast forward to the end of the semester and I have a $1300 bill from them. I call them AGAIN and they tell me I was denied the scholarship because I am military affiliated. They never sent me a notice, never called me, never made any attempt to communicate with... Read More

DeVry University has challenged me to excel in the class. My success depends on how much effort I put into my studies; I am consistent with my study habit. Our professors are mostly experts in the field and very knowledgeable, but not only that, they are helpful. DeVry has given me the chance to enjoy learning and apply it in the real world. I will finally receive my diploma and am in the process of applying for their MSA. Thank you, DeVry University!

I believe I waisted my time with this school and regret being present for this journey. Fortunately, I was able to receive my Bachelor's with a 3.2 GPA this year. Despite the craziness... Read More

I just completed my degree at DeVry in Business Technical management with a focus in Human Resource Management. I already had some college credits and completed 19 with DeVry. I was initially apprehensive about the work load because it was online, but honestly it wasn't that bad. I took 2 classes each term, which lasted 2 months and I didn't feel overwhelmed by the workload. During that time, I had a full time job and a new born my last 9 classes. I think the work is very manageable. I had to submit... Read More
