FAQs About Concordia University - Saint Paul
Is Concordia University - Saint Paul Online?
Yes, CSP features an online school — CSP Global — and a physical campus in St. Paul, Minnesota, for local students who wish to attend classes in person. According to the National Center for Education Statistics, 38% of the school's undergraduate students engage in fully online programs, while 13% are enrolled in at least some remote coursework.
Is Concordia University - Saint Paul a Good School?
One way to determine whether CSP is a good school is to look at the resources it offers online students. Academic advisors and enrollment counselors are available to help online students from the moment they apply. Once enrolled, distance learners are eligible to go through a transfer credit evaluation in order to get the most out of their previously earned credits. There's even a mentorship program where they can engage with experienced alumni.
All these resources help lead to CSP's favorable graduation rate of 62%, which is 5% higher than the midpoint for other four-year universities based on College Scorecard. After graduation, students who received financial aid can expect to earn a median annual salary of approximately $53,200, which is $5,000 more than the typical college graduate.
What Is CSP Known For?
CSP is best known as a Lutheran Christian institution that has several offerings for religious students. There is a range of church work programs designed to place students in prominent positions, such as Director of Christian Education, Lutheran Classroom Teacher, and Pre-Deaconess.
Online students should note that at least five religious studies credits are required as part of CSP's general education. This includes classes such as New Testament and Scripture and Its Interpretation: A Global Introduction to the Bible.
Which Degrees at CSP Provide the Highest Earnings for Graduates?
The highest earning degree at CSP is the online Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration, where students can expect to earn a median annual salary of ~$60,700. Not far behind is the online Bachelor of Arts in Healthcare Administration with a salary of $54,300. This is followed by the online Bachelor of Arts in Human Resource Management with expected earnings of $53,700.
Additionally, OnlineU's Salary Score is a great way to gauge a degree's potential earnings. This proprietary score compares alumni salaries from different schools using the same degree. CSP scores an 81 out of 100 at the bachelor's level and a 58 out of 100 at the master's level.
How Difficult Is It To Get Into CSP?
Data from College Scorecard shows that CSP has an acceptance rate of 69%. This is only slightly higher than the national average for four-year universities.
While acceptance rates are a helpful metric, it's also worth noting that CSP is a test-optional school. Therefore, it does not require the submission of college entrance exams. This makes CSP easier to get into, especially for students who either scored poorly on their SAT/ACT or have yet to take the tests altogether.
What Are the Admission Requirements for CSP?
Online students applying to college at CSP must complete their application through CSP Global. The minimum GPA requirement for associate and bachelor's applicants is 2.0 on a 4.0 scale. Those who don't meet the threshold may be asked to complete an academic success essay or provide additional documentation.
Students must complete the following steps to apply:
- Fill out and submit CSP's online application.
- Submit final and official transcripts from a high school or previously attended college.
The application is free to fill out, and CSP may cover any fees associated with transcripts. This is beneficial for students looking to save money on their college applications.

The online MFA program is new and quite good. The professors are dedicated and provide a strong foundation in theory and craft. There is a wide diversity of students (of all genres), but you get out of it what you put into it. The program's strong points outweigh the weak points, in my opinion. Since getting a real teaching job is nearly impossible unless you go to the elite programs, this program is well-suited to those who want to improve their writing, simple as that, and have a day job that they... Do not go here. I'm still enrolled but it's because I'm only 6 or so months away from graduating and I'm trapped. The financial aid office absolutely ruined my financial plan and my VA benefits and they won't even admit their mistake. That part aside, the school advertises "flexible" online classes with schedules for working adults. One of the first classes I took had a Group project component with extensive meeting requirements in order to do. This means that 4 working adults with families need... Read More
