I chose to go to CAU because of the great history that this HBCU holds in the course of African American history, and because you take classes at each of the other HBCU's at the Atlanta University Center and Georgia State University. On a personally level I became pregnant and was diagnosed with a chronic illness in my junior year and my department professors were extremely supportive of me and helpful. It has been over 20 years and I still remain in contact with the department chair today.
