I've gone through 3 different schools and Chamberlain University has been the best all around! I am a proud alumni and current FNP student. The program is great and the instructors care about their students. I felt supported through every process of the... Read More schooling. I didn't have to endure insufferable calls like the other schools and everyone I spoke with at the school have been helpful and caring.
Super supportive student services. Classes are very workable for me even though I work full time. Check with your employer , as mine gives tuition reimbursement. I never thought I'd go back for my BSN, and I'm already more than halfway. Professors are... Read More very reachable.
I had three prior degrees before enrolling at Chamberlain - bachelor's in marine science, master's in education, and a bachelor's in nursing. All three of these degrees were done at a mortar and brick institution, which I loved. However, these types of... Read More school do not offer much flexibility for those who have families and jobs. Additionally, by my third degree, I felt that I already knew how to study and did not receive much from in-class learning. I looked at several online schools and decided on Chamberlain University as it checked all my boxes - family nurse practitioner program, affordable, military discount, and excellent reviews. Additionally, I knew a few friends who completed the FNP program and loved it; they also felt that it prepared them well for the work environment. When previous instructors found out I was attending Chamberlain, they respond with, "Oh! I hear that's a great school." Chamberlain has been offering online programs for quite awhile, so I feel like they have their act together. The technology is advanced, reliable, and easy to use. It took me about a week to get used to the interface, but that is going to be true for any new technology. I have also had a great experience with all the faculty! They are friendly, keep you informed of due dates, and are available through email, the student portal, or phone; I ask a lot of questions and they were always answered in a timely manner (within 12 hours usually). However, you can always call and talk to the instructors over the phone during office hours. My one disclaimer is that students are expected to be very self-sufficient. However, this is true of ANY online learning program. The staff is extremely friendly, flexible, understand, and always willing to help students in any way. Having said that, you are an adult and will be treated as such. Do not blame the teachers or anyone else for your inability to complete assignments or understand the material - especially if you did not reach out to the administration in a timely manner. I am a third of the way through the program, and I have loved every class/professor thus far!
