I was working on my Doctorate by distance learning, on paper, not online. I finished all my course work on paper and I was living in another country. CCU is by far the best education I acquired. They are also military friendly which is a huge plus if you are Active Duty or work as a Federal Gov't employees trying to pursue higher education degrees while working full time and have families, as well as other obligations in our busy schedules. As many other reviews already provided some overview the CCU courses are self-paced and corresponded with sufficient support with curriculums. Read More with minimal cost as Amazon and other online stores any brand new College level textbook are very expensive unless you plan to keep them for a long term. You have to be very disciplined and study in order to pass exams after you submit your APA format essays. Professors provided feedback and additional resources which I definitely benefited. This is not an easy online school and requires efforts and determination to pass each courses to earn your credits. Exams are also proctored and well organized by CCU to maintain integrity and quality of the education. Overall, I am extremely grateful and appreciative of this school because it helped me personally and professionaly grow in my careers in Gov't jobs. Degrees also helped me get promoted to a higher leadership positions over the past years. While I fully finished my entire degrees through a job tuition-assistance programs, I am very confident to say that CCU is much more affordable compared to other Brick and Mortar institutions. The price was very reasonable too. If you're like me, 25 years into your career and just need that BA/BS degree to promote, this is your best choice. Education Like I said, the timing and class structure are convenient, but it is by no means easy. You still have to read, pay attention, write a lot, and pass the exams. I'm a good writer for the most part, but I did have a couple of papers failed/kicked back because I rushed through them (the feedback from the professor was spot on). So, no you can't just submit anything and pass. It's open book, but still challenging. I actually learned quite a bit at my old age! Staff 5 star staff, you won't convince me otherwise. Debbie during the admissions process, and Taylor my student advisor during my coursework, were outstanding. Communicated often, answered promptly, and were just nice helpful people all around. They didn't just be nice to get me to sign for the money part then leave me out to dry. In fact, the promotional opportunity I talked about came unexpected early, and I needed an unlikely miracle favor. Taylor and each one of my professors were EXTREMELY quick and helpful, and made sure my miracle came true. I have nothing but outstanding things to say about CCU. I just graduated from CCU in June with a BS in Business Administration. It took me 2 years to complete the degree. Since graduating and posting on Linked In, I've been consistently contacted by recruiters. Last week, I accepted a position at a consulting firm for a junior analyst position with a salary in the mid 80s. Read More verified my degree by requesting the transcripts (they were sent electronically after I authorized). Most all schools offer online programs now. You can't beat the value, given the low tuition. The rigor of work is about the same as I encountered at the brick and mortar community college I attended (I transferred in 30 credits to CCU). I have only positive things to say about this university. I would never have gotten the job I did without this credential.

TLDR; *Seems* shady, but actually accepted by other schools and state/federal entities. I have mixed feelings. The school *does* seem shady from the web site design and marketing. However, they are accredited. I can tell you that multiple states do accept these credits towards psych licensure. Yes, you do have to pay to retake classes/exams if you fail. That is every school, including brick/mortar. So study. I never failed a test there though. When I attended in 2007, you had to have finals proctored... It is not the most rigorous curriculum, but it does satisfy requirements for transferring credits to other schools and state / federal acceptance of degree.
