As a Walden University alumni, I have grown in the field of education. I learned to work collaboratively a.d cooperatively with group members and colleagues. I also learned how to implement social changes in my environment and the wider world at-large. Walden University has impacted my life positively.

The overall teaching and learning experience was excellent. The university offers flexible ways to learn, provides a caring support team that helped me every step of the journey to stay on track. I was taught by competent and respected professionals who provoked critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and encouraged me to become a catalyst for positive social change.

A year of my life was taken for a degree that did not expand the knowledge I already had within my profession. The lack of technical support was awful and after spending 4 months with them to fix my account, nothing changed. I finished my degree on my cell phone!!!! After graduating with honors, no diploma has been received. The university does not have one HUMAN person you can speak to about graduation, only an email that they never respond to. I would never recommend this university to anyone!!!... Read More

For the most part, My experience was extremely professional and rewarding. The timely responses of my professors improved my ability to produce improved responses to my assignments. Despite my family and financial challenges, I was able to endure to the end with the full support of the financial team and most importantly for me most of my professors. My time at Walden University will always remain etched in my mind as my most rewarding experience.

I enjoyed learning at Walden. Although it was not a walk in the park combining work and accelerated studies, but everything has been made such that students have access to quality learning materials and most especially great instructors. I loved it.

I loved the ease of everything being online. I had a full time job, and was pregnant and then a new born while attending. The teachers will quick to answer any questions and very supportive. The other students were easily able to be reached as well.

Walden University offers great opportunity for full time workers to study and pursue their education. Besides, its courses are selected to match the objectives of the field of study. It has a huge library and the communication with staff and administrators is very smooth.

Walden, University course materials are outdated books I Have a technology book that is 13 years old. When doing assignments the course links are often broken and you are unable to get help in time to assess the information needed to complete assignments.Lack of concern to follow up by department heads, so do not look for real assistance classroom issues. When applying for scholarships the instructors will not help with filling out reference requirements, so do not count on grants or scholarships... Read More

Great Experience. Rigorous. Now that I am working in the field, I am very happy with Walden. They are very well respected in the Counseling and Education communities. Ncate and Cacrep Certs are essential in these communities and Walden has those opportunities in the online environment.

This school is so unhelpful it is not even funny. I just needed to enroll in two individual classes to extend my teaching certification. They were the only school I could find that had classes geared only towards middle school education (I give them credit for only that). It took about 4 months to get me enrolled in the classes because their online system and customer representatives/"advisors" are so horribly ineffective. I would call at least twice a week, sometime more, to try to get everything... Read More

Walden is TERRIBLE. They lie to get you in. At the end they want you to do a portfolio and NO ONE WILL HELP YOU! They say each section is a mini assessment test. If you tge student need to make corrections they send the paper back to you with comments, redo/ revise papers over and over still they dont pass you. I have taken out thousands of dollars in loans they refuse to give me my masters degree. I have completed all the classes and did the portfolio work . For 5 sections i have done papers, 4,5,... What are the odds of getting the same rude instructor twice? It happened to me. How can someone expect you to do an assignment with no examples? On top of that the instructors take their sweet time to respond to you. How can you ask for something in a timely manner when you don't know the status. What I mean is how can you move on to week 3 without having a grade from week 1. First off your emails are not private. Anyone on the other end of the phone can just read all your business. None of the classes... Read More

I enrolled in the MS.Ed program at Walden after doing some research of online universities that offered a Masters program in Mathematics education. I ultimately chose Walden because of the low cost, regional accreditation (vs. National), and its affiliation with the NEA, which provided a discount in tuition. For the most part faculty was ok. Most were knowledgable in their field and able to provide valuable feedback on my work. Others seemed to skim my work and it was evident that they had not read... Read More
