I love the updated physical therapy program, I feel it is more structured for learning than the old program was. I like the focus on clinical experience and that our first clinical experience is within the first year of school. I think it helps with the transition from classroom learning to real world experience and makes the students more confident with their knowledge. Because the physical therapy program is only in its second year of the new accreditation, faculty is still working out the kinks... Read More

Utica College has an excellent Physical Therapy program. The advisers and professors strive to make their students successful. The rooms available for PT students are very nice and give students their own space to work and practice for exams. I love the experience I am getting here at Utica College and wouldn't change a thing.

I participated in a 3 + 3 program, where I did 3 years of undergraduate education and 3 years of graduate. This was an accelerated program that will allow me to become a Doctor of Physical Therapy in 6 years rather than 7. The professors are all clinicians in the Utica area and can provide direct feedback from their clinical experiences. Although the program is fast paced and accelerated it is rewarding and very intriguing.

Very productive at preparing students for their careers in physical therapy. Working out a new curriculum so still ironing out kinks for following classes

Some of the pros of the program are that they just implemented a new curriculum to help the students learn the material better so they can pass the boards. The professors are always available and willing to help the students if they ask for it. There are many opportunities to work with people in the community to become more accustomed to working with the public. One con to the program is that they are not always on top of the schedule especially with the new curriculum.

Pros: -Caring environment -Great feedback from all the professors -Small class size, teacher/student ratio Cons: -Grad school is going to be a challenge no matter where you attend. Utica College DPT program does its best to turn any negative feedback into positive actions and outcomes.
