UWP offers a small-town feel with tremendous opportunities for growth and connections to the Business industry. The flexibility of scheduling offered opportunities to pursue internships and part-time jobs to finance your education and gain insight into your future career. The professors were content experts in their field and always offering assistance in helping build your own future.

Degree: Business Administration
In 2016, I made the decision to transfer to UW-Platteville. At the time it made sense for me. I was previously attending UW- La Crosse. The difference in quality of education is polarizing. My degree from Platteville will be in Business Administration. During my time at UW-La Crosse I was taking classes to fulfill my gen ed requirements. I can honestly say that my professors at UW-La Crosse in my general education courses were much better than any professor I've had at UWP. The business department... Read More

Having gone to UW-La Crosse for 3 years prior I have a good comparison to UW-Platteville. The major disappointment with UWP (specifically the ME program) is that over 75% of the professors I have had have no experience and they are foreign. First, I mentioned they are foreign because their accents are so strong that half the battle is understanding the explicit words that come out of their mouth. Second (most importantly) is that there is a HUGE difference between teaching and talking. The skills... Read More

This is a program that quite simply put is what you put into it. Many people scoff at a distance / hybrid education as it is perceived to be a diploma mill. So long as you put in the work, that is not the case with UW-Platteville's online and hybrid component. This is not something that is for the student who cannot structure their workload or motivate themselves as expectations are loose and some may find themselves desiring more of a hard-and-fast calendar of deadlines and hand-holding. However,... Read More

University of Wisconsin Platteville was one of the best choices I could have made as an 18 year old high school senior. UWP has a community feel with big perks. I was able to complete two field work positions during my undergrad, which directly influenced employers after graduation. Opportunities to study abroad are vast and the faculty and staff are supportive.

I loved going to school at UW-Platteville and thought I got a great education. The class sizes were small and the professors were great. I know that I was well-prepared for the career I chose and I'm happy that I still get to stay involved.

Degree: Criminal Justice
They have one of the best Criminal Justice programs in the country with 3 emphasis' to choose from. The three are Corrections, Law Enforcement, and Forensic. Many schools with the CJ program don't have anything like that. They did get rid of their Social Work certification program, which could be helpful to a lot of people in this program. This campus has almost doubled in size since I graduated, and I can't believe how popular it has become!
