Degree: Nursing

I don't recommend this University at all, the cost of education is overpriced for not so good school. You are forced to take around 6 catholic education classes, 3 Theology, and 3 Philosophy. As a nursing major, this can be destructive toward a load of classes already being taken by the nursing school. The nursing program at St. Thomas doesn't require students to have a BLS or any types of certifications before applying, which is a requirement for most public nursing programs in Texas. The nursing... Read More

University of St. Thomas is a wonderful school, for students who are looking for a small class size. My experience was wonderful, but be aware of the hefty price tag that comes with this privilege. My student loan debt was much more than I could pay back and the scholarships I received were minimal compared to the cost. The campus was beautiful and events on campus were always informative. Unfortunately no internship were required and employment after college was extremely difficult to find. If attending... Read More

University of St. Thomas has been a very rewarding school. I am currently attending the online program in pursuit f my Masters in Curriculum and Instruction. The process of applying was very simple, with people there to assist me along the way. I have an adviser who will call me periodically to check in and ensure that I am doing ok. When I need someone to assist me in person, it is very easy to have an appointment set up with any department on campus. The online courses are through Blackboard. The... Read More

The University of St. Thomas, in Houston, Texas, is a beautiful campus, located in the heart of Houston. Currently, I am a 9th grade English teacher and an assistant coach for the girls' varsity soccer team, at the high school I work at. The educators, at St. Thomas, are extremely helpful and accommodating, considering how busy my current work schedule is. My program advisor, Dr. Serena Flores, is incredible. Dr. Flores is committed to serving her students in an exemplary manner. Furthermore, her... Read More

This is a great school full of enthusiastic students and professors. My favorite characteristics of the university are how involved and friendly the students are, but also how the professors make an effort to learn their students' names, styles of learning, and are great mentors.

The University of Thomas in Houston is an excellent and affordable option for students who excel with small class sizes and one-on-one instruction. The campus is located in the eccentric Montrose District near both Downtown and the Museum/Arts district offering both a variety diversity and culture. The professors are personable and knowledgeable and are always there to offer extra help if needed.

The University of St. Thomas Houston allows students to thrive spiritually, socially, and academically. I earned my BA in psychology and my BA in policitcal Science there. I was also involved in the honors and pre-law program. The psychology program is amazing. The teachers genuinely care about the students and encourage all psychology students to pursue research. Additionally, all of the political science professors are extremely knowledgable and approachable. They are always happy to have conversations... Read More

The reviews written about this school before I attended were bad; and, I ignored them. Tens years after I started UST new student reviews I read on other websites are just as bad. And, these reviews are about the same exact negative issues. The school has never fixed this problems. And the school never tired to address the issues. There is no student life, social life, events. You don't see students socializing. This is a commuter school. One class can cost as much most entire semesters at other... Read More

In my opinion University of St. Thomas is one of the powerful universities in Houston, Texas. One of my reasons for making this statement is because the professors are awesome. The professors are well equipped to assist the students who are currently enrolled in their online courses. The professors are very knowledgeable and skilled of all subject areas they teach online. They are very helpful to the students in ensuring that learning is always taking place online through communication and the Blackboard... Read More

By far one of the best features is the intimate classroom settings. With classes of no more than 30 you actually get to know your professors which helps you massively when trying to get the content down, especially for when you need extra help and advice outside of class. Due to its liberal arts qualities you are able to gain a wide range of knowledge, which helps you to understand your subject better and in more depth, as well as other subjects. The availability of certain courses are sometimes... Read More

Continuing your education has many pros because as professional you are already working and if you are fortunate doing what is your passion. Having the opportunity to learn and collaborate with other professionals is invaluable. The cons are that sometimes there is not enough time as we would like to complete assignments and other activities assigned. Also, the bigger problem is that often times we are not able to afford to go back to school. Hopefully, we will get the support that we need in order... Read More

The faculty and program are exemplary. The location is difficult to get to, in the middle of an over-priced area to live in. The student life can be sparse, because the school itself is at a seminary; thus, non-seminary students are rare. The amenities offered for spiritual and theological growth are par-none.

My graduate program has been very fulfilling thus far. The classes have been structured well and taught by knowledgeable professors. The professors have done a good job of transferring information and key concepts through course work (assignments) and presentations. The program has been challenging, but I feel it has been valuable. I view the program size (being relatively small) as a pro, however some may feel as though it is a con for networking purposes. Good content, challenging assignments,... Read More

Although the above categories only render the school eight stars, I firmly believe that the M.A. in Faith and Culture deserves more than ten. What other program in the nation can teach you the roots of American order and also show you how to be a just and participating citizen in a society with increasing distrust in government. If you want to learn about this country's founders and the moral pretenses it was established under look no further. You don't have to be Catholic in order to understand... Read More

The program is sufficient to prepare you for the future career. It consists of 36 credit hours and covers all major fields of study such as accounting, marketing, finance, management, etc. Professors are demanding but quite helpful. Overall, I think this program is worth the time and money invested.

the school is very close to my house, so it's convenient. I wish there were more varied evening classes offered. I am a full-time professional and the courses offered in the evening are much more limited. There are some very interesting classes I would like to take, but they're only offered mid-day.
