The school itself is on par with the top law schools in the nation. The recruitment program is also quite decent. The best part is the collegial atmosphere with classmates and the truly helpful group these law school alumni are. The Trojan network is for real.

USC is a great school, but those considering law school should first think about what the reasons why, and what their end goals are. USC is great for some reasons, and arguably not the best program for other reasons.

USC Gould is a fantastic school. I believe 1L is more difficult than other schools because we take two additional courses: LLV (Law, Language, & Values) and Professional Responsibility.

Intense course, great education, slightly dodgy area, but good transportation and close to downtown and good areas.

I selected USC (as opposed to similarly ranked schools) because of USC's comparatively smaller class size, personalized involvement in your growth and education, and the USC alumni network. There is no question about it, the Trojan family is constantly looking to help you out.

The people are USC Law are phenomenal. All the professors, staff, and students are highly collegial rather than competitive, and I do not think that this is easily found in other law schools. The professors and staff are all more than willing to do whatever they can to help you succeed, and the student body, as a small community, has fostered USC Law to become a welcoming, friendly, and collegial environment in which to study law.

USC is very geared towards Corporate Law and those who are not so inclined will find it a bit harder to adjust to the mindset on campus. People are really competitive come finals time because those BigLaw jobs are hard to come by. However, it is still a very friendly campus and because of how small our class size is everyone knows each other and you can form close friendships with many people. After all, you will most likely stay in the Los Angeles area and you will interact with them in real life... Read More

The best part about USC Law is the people. The classes are made up of intelligent, well-rounded and diverse students ranging from their early twenties to well into their thirties. I have been amazed at how accomplished many of these students already are, as many of them took time off after completing their undergraduate educations to work in a variety of different fields. I also find the small class sizes beneficial as you are able to get to know most of your classmates on some level, and professors... Read More

Overall, a worthwhile experience. While the law school has its issues, it compensates for them by providing high quality education and fostering a communal, friendly environment.
