Overall, I would say my time at the University of South Carolina was well spent and I would recommend the university to others. Regarding academics, I was pleasantly impressed by the faculty at USC. I remember most of my professors fondly and their enthusiasm for their subjects was what made learning engaging. The facilities were less impressive, USC is a business minded school so oftentimes the science facilities and their needs might have fallen in priority, but we did receive a much needed new... I loved my college experience. I think it was a great mix of fun and learning and felt there were lots of resources available for career opportunities. I think the negative part was not getting the best guidance on what I should pursue career wise but I think if I tried more I could’ve gotten the resources. The Greek life is also a great way to meet people and provides great tools for the future.

Degree: Biomedical Engineering

Attended the University of South Carolina Honors college from 2015 to 2019. There, I majored in biomedical engineering. I believe that the honors college prepared me well for life beyond graduation. The program was very expansive and flexible, with many electives tailored to different areas of focus within the major. The professors were very well informed and helpful in getting us to understand the concepts.

I really enjoyed the University of South Carolina. I feel like they had a lot of resources that helped prepare me for my future career path and they had a lot of different opportunities in undergrad to help further my career. I really appreciated the multitude of extracurricular organizations as well as it provided a good balance of school and days to day life and was really inclusive.

Degree: Public Health

Satisfied with the campus, social opportunities, and the rigor of most of my classes. Some of the larger classes could have been improved by being more hands-on.

I did particularly enjoy my major-specific professors (public health), and I credit many of them for exposing me to opportunities that ultimately led me to my current career.

The University of South Carolina was an excellent university to attend and set me up very well for my life and career. The classes prepared me well and were full of good information that has helped me excel. I was also part of the Honors College which gave me opportunities to enroll in smaller classes and to complete a research thesis to build my resume. Additionally, the school is where I met some great friends that have stuck with me ever since. I love USC!

I loved my time at USC. It took me some time to figure out what I wanted to do, but once I did it was no problem getting a degree. The professors I had were great! The social aspect was excellent as well. I easily found a Christian community that helped me grow so much as a person!

My time at the University of South Carolina was truly memorable for me. Being from the north east, I never expected to fall in love with the southern charm that South Carolina provides. The beautiful campus, outstanding academics, and focus on both work and play made it a great experience.

Degree program only 32 hours. Had to take 90 hours of electives. Overall the return on investment has not been good. Met some cool people though and got to work on some cool projects. Degree program was excellent but I can't help but feel like I wasted a ton of time and money in gen ed classes

UofSC was an experience I’ll never forget! The academics were top notch, along with student life! I enjoyed my time there and it’ll always be a memory I hold dear. Professors were great, the classrooms were nice and the environment was safe. As always, Go Gamecocks!

Degree: Computer Science

University of South Carolina, Columbia, was a great place to get a Bachelor's of Science in Computer Science. Most of my classes were highly educational, and relevant in the workforce I'm now a part of. I do feel like attendance was a bit strict, but the culture, safety, and preparation for my future all made up for it.

It is a great school for those looking for a fun social environment. Definitely great if you are in the business school and in greek life. Hard to have a social life outside of that. the academics are fine, nothing to brag about. I was able to find full time employment after graduating.

The University of South Carolina was an amazing university. It had a large campus with a community feel and offered all types of majors. There were many clubs and activities that students could join to get involved. There were also professional connections through the surrounding city that aided in professional development.

Degree: Statistics

Worst experience of my academic life. I withdrew after one semester. The teachers were awful and couldn't teach. They basically stole my money and taught me nothing. I had many years of statistical experience coming into the program, and I'm a strong math student. I wasn't the problem. The substandard teaching is the problem.

Degree: MSW

I am currently a student enrolled in the MSW program. I came in as a transfer student at the start of fall 2019. I am still attempting to gather my thoughts in regard to the curriculum and how classes are conducted. The classes are three hours long with no lunch break in-between. You sit in class and listen to professors lecture on the subject matter, some make it intriguing when it comes to the field of social work, while other professors make you question if social work is really for you. They... Read More

USC is by far one of the best universities to attend. They are culturally diverse and make everyone feel welcomed. We have the BEST student crowd, especially for game days in Williams Brice Stadium. Who doesn't love a good college life experience?! The university provides many student success opportunities throughout your undergraduate career. They also have a wide array of majors to choose from and a ton of extra curricular activities that you can be involved in. They encourage friendships and diversity... Read More

The University of South Carolina-Columbia campus prepared me immensely for life after school. The professors in the Theatre department are top notch because they care, they listen, they challenge you as a student and they have a breadth of knowledge and experience to share with you. In my common core classes, even though class sizes were quite large, I never just felt like a number, but rather I felt respected and valued in the classroom. I received my undergraduate degree there as well as a post-graduate... Read More

My last four years at the University of South Carolina is one I greatly appreciate. The business school here is amazing and the student atmosphere is beyond what I would have ever imagined from a large university. The professors are amazing because most of them are still working in the real world or have long-term work experience.

I was privileged to be the second class of the Masters of Athletic Training program, something I am very proud to boast. I completed the two-year program and was hired to work for the football program for another two years. In that time I can say the program has grown by leaps and bounds. As an alumnus, I am very proud of the work the faculty and staff have done to create an amazing program.

School is completed on Blackboard. It is mostly asynchronous in that you can complete the necessary work on your time. We have had to complete several group projects where I needed to accommodate other classmates schedules and that was difficult for me. Statistics online also proved to be a challenge for me but it was "doable". I had the option of taking one class per semester or 2 and I am glad I selected only one at a time. It is aprox. 8-10 hours of reading and study per week per class. Overall... Read More
