University of Northwestern - St. Paul

University of Northwestern - Saint Paul is a fantastic place to receive a Christ-centered education while also getting top-notch academics. The class sizes are small, professors are hands-on, and curriculum is thorough. While I chose to commute, I had a great experience with the environment on campus. High quality food, friendly staff, and well-kept grounds were just a few of the amazing parts of campus. I highly recommend UNWSP to anyone looking for a high quality and Christ-centered education.

Northwestern is a small school with small class sizes that really helped me understand my studies and allowed me personal contact with professors who took great strides to make sure all students succeeded in their classes. Everyone was very helpful and understanding. I loved my time there and learned so much about my field of study. With the numerous field experiences I participated in, I felt prepared to when I got my first classroom teaching position.

UNWSP has been a wonderful experience for me as a lover of all things academic. My faith has been impacted positively and directed to think more critically and creatively. I feel more adequately prepared for my job in ministry. By studying at UNWSP, I have been encouraged to teach at a university level, which has challenged me to work up to getting my doctorate. This is definitely a great online school to expand one's learning.

I really loved my college experience. I believe I had professors that cared about my future and were diligent to prepare me for becoming the best professional I could be. My college made sure we had clinical time outside the college realm before we were in our program of study to ensure we wanted to continue to major in it and they gave me a very practical, hands-on education.

I thought the small class sizes where extremely beneficial. I ended up paying more than a state school but I believe the opportunities I had were extremely important for my own professional growth and wouldn't have been as readily available at larger schools. It was also a school with Christian principles. I benefited greatly from learning biology from a Christian prospective so that I was better prepared to present myself in a work environment.

Pros The courses are well structured and very educative and stimulating. Lecturers are very knowledgeable, helpful and tailor the course to be engaging for the whole class. Cons Some Seminars and programs organized on campus not accessible for online students.

Getting a master degree means I have a competitive edge in careers that values education. I have learned in new dimensions in learning through technology and hands teaching. The staff are very supporting and have allowed the students to learn and work together. The cons are I wish I could be offered a licensure through the program I am in thru the field to be viewed better and excepted in the professional field. However, I will make every effort to try to get a licensure through other avenues.

UNWSP is an excellent seminary program for those wanting to attend in the twin cities. It is affordable, flexible, and prepares you for life in ministry. The hard part of it comes when you are balancing life and are trying to complete one paper a week as part of a weekly cohort program. Overall it is a great experience and I encourage anyone interested in furthering their ministry education to give it a try.

Pros being online was the flexibility yet still challenge of the program. The cons was missing real time interaction (which was expected).

Pros: accelerated, convenient, quality program, caring faculty. Cons: For those who absolutely love the face-to-face interactions, this online option isn't the best choice.

It has a very flexible schedule and has allowed me to work throughout the week. The interaction with both other students and the faculty has been dynamic. Because it has one class period a week, I really take ownership of my education.

The school offers what it claims but as it transitions its mission to broaden studies, its effectivity as relates to health is diminished.

NWC is a challenging school. Expect to grow during your time here.
