My experience at University of Nevada, Las Vegas was genuinely positive and worthwhile. During my time there, I felt like I was stepping into adulthood, not just going through the motions of school. I built meaningful friendships with both classmates and professors, which made a big difference in how supported and engaged I felt throughout my program.
One of the things I appreciated most was the quality of knowledge I received. My professors weren’t just there to teach—they were approachable, real,... Read More
Even after graduating, I still feel connected to the university. Having continued access to resources and maintaining relationships with people there shows that the support doesn’t just end once you leave. Overall, my time at UNLV was a solid experience that helped shape me both academically and personally, and I’m grateful for what I gained from it.

I enjoyed completing an accelerated 1-year Master's program. Although the program felt fast paced online, the in-person courses and discussions allowed me to slow down and digest the material that was just taught. The student life is what you make of it. If you put yourself out there and socialize, you will attract a good handful of friends. However, if you're there to go to class and do your work then leave, you can get away with doing that too.

Although UNLV isn't considered a pretigious school, I enjoyed my seven years as both as undergraduate and graduate student. UNLV gives a college experience, without fully immersing you because it is a commuter school. I liked that there were opportunities to network, but I wish there had been more business events.

The campus was very spacious, and it was rather easy to find the buildings for classes. Most of the classes I took were useful and taught me a lot about what I needed for my major and the career I was looking into. Had some professors that I just did not really like or learn from, but overall had a good experience.

Going to college at UNLV was good, had good teachers and made friends. However, it is hard to overlook how incredibly expensive it is to go to college now. going to CSN before UNLV was the best decision, because it was so much cheaper taking care of other classes that I could prior to spending so much more at UNLV

I was an Anthropology major and really liked the classes and most of the professors, especially in the upper-level courses. The campus is very diverse and feels connected to the real world, which helped me think more deeply about people, culture, and history. Now that I’m a high school history teacher at a prep academy, I can see how much that background still shows up in my teaching. It’s a big school so you do have to be proactive but overall UNLV gave me a solid education and a lot of perspective.... Read More

The University of Nevada, Las Vegas is a pretty bad school for almost everything except studying hospitality. It is ranked poorly in academic listings, and a degree from this college does not garner much professional respect. Classes are overcrowded and the instructors are usually of low quality. The campus itself offers little amenities and very few extracurricular activities. I definitely do not recommend going to UNLV if you can afford to attend anywhere else.

UNLV is consistently improving every year. I am a proud second generation rebel and have grown up watching how UNLV has grown over the years. UNLV provides students with quality education at a very cheap price, giving students plenty of resources to learn the material well with no additional cost. I enjoy the community that UNLV provides, especially within their registered student organizations! Getting involved is 100% the best way to find your community here at UNLV

It depends really on what major you are going in. I just graduated with a BSBA in Accounting, and most of the instructors were great, except like, two. I went back for Finance, so I am going to take a shot at that. I noticed specific majors are great, others are horrible, but I think we can all agree mutually that parking is terrible. I avoid the Black Lot, and if my classes are at the Lee Business School, I park in the Dorothy Parking Garage. Otherwise I park at the Student and Wellness Center Parking... Read More

While there are certain colleges within the University that have great staff (I did two semesters at Boyd and respected just about every faculty member I encountered), UNLV as a whole is a joke. I had taken out a living expenses loan to get through the Spring semester. After contacting three separate departments and seven different employees, I was unable to obtain information on how deferring would impact this student aid. Turns out, it returned it, and I was forced to pay back a huge lump sum immediately,... Read More

UNLV does have opportunities for students in networking with students orgs, faculty, and community members. You have to go get it. Having a support system is a must and building one takes time and energy. I was able to attain a full ride and more than I could imagine, such as presenting research at international conference sponsored by UNLV and learning from doctoral students in labs. Although there are negatives to any aspect, such financial aid takes a lengthy time to process many things and the... Read More

UNLV is easily one of the worst universities in the country. They claim to offer a wide variety of degree programs however, they do not actually offer the classes to obtain that degree. The acceptance rate is over 80%, yet less than 40% are able to graduate. As someone who attended, its not because their classes are difficult, its because the classes don't actually exist or are not offered for4-5 semesters at a time. So what do you do when your scholarship requires a full-time commitment to cover... Read More

I received a bachelors degree in healthcare administration from UNLV in 2018. The professors I took classes from were knowledgeable in their fields, particularly my internship professor. Through the internship program I managed to find a job at a local hospital and my first year out of college I made 50,000+ which wasn’t bad for a starting salary. Overall, my advice to other students would be to remember that what you put into your education is what you’ll get out of it. There are a lot of opportunities... Read More

I had studied at two excellent universities in other states prior to attending UNLV. I came to UNLV because I wanted to study with an eminent professor who was there (since departed), and I received a generous scholarship because of him. I was thoroughly disappointed and frustrated at UNLV because of the constant and obvious interoffice politics. Feuds and competition, infighting and general personality problems among members of the Music faculty got in the way of the quality of education that the... Read More

The school strive to earn money and profit by providing instructors who are not well equipped to provide students the required and essential tools to be successful. Most instructors expects you to know the material well ahead of time and shows up to class to do the least minimal work. The school as a whole doesn’t feel like a school. I hate the parking and I hate the location!! I'm a mother, wife, and homemaker. UNLV is not as accommodating as the community college, for people who live in vegas and have a family. They want every buck and coin they can squeeze from you! The location is south east of the city and that location is riddled with homelessness, crime activity, and low lives. I earned master's in history and the program was actually terrific: very rigorous, interesting, and non-doctrinaire. We had to study A LOT and understand all different perspectives. I think the History program itself was great - and I was high-maintenance. The reason I don't give UNLV 5 stars is because of the administration. As UNLV's longtime business historian Eugene Moehring, the school's bureaucracy has been known for "administrative chicanery" since the school's beginning, and I experienced... Read More

UNLV takes all kinds of students and has an excellent Hospitality program, but other than that, there isn't much to say about the school. Students are not overly competitive. The student life at UNLV is rather non-existent because a lot of students do not live on campus housing.
