Degree: Environmental Science

Received a lot of support from instructors while on military deployments and assignments. Course work greatly improved my ability to perform at work and the degree opened prospects for Officer Candidate School. I used mostly tuition assistance, however the amount I paid out of pocket was low due to the low tuition rate.

I attended the University of Maryland University College and graduated in May 2017 with a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Management. The school is very affordable and the online and hybrid classes were very helpful in allowing me to complete my degree while serving in the Active Duty Air Force. The school is designed for students who work full time or work odd schedules.

Student teacher interaction was a big advantage. Instructors are always available for students 24/7. All books and software technology are online and are free. You know what is expected of you and the instructor before class starts. You have access to your classes before semester begins. Syllabus outlines the guidelines and how to be successful in the class your taking.

Save yourself time and money. This school is outrageous. I have gone to the Adelphi Academic center where the Financial Aid, Academic Advising, and Bursar are located. You're better off calling the 800 number than showing up in person. The tuition is also outrageous for the quality of education. The only positive that I got from the experience was from their Hybrid courses, in which you met a physical teacher once a week for the duration of the course. The online courses are garbage. Your grades... Read More

This school is horrible. You call and get transferred several times with negative results, professors took days, 2-3, to reply to you in email because they are full time at university around the US. Its been over two weeks and still no transcript so my local school that i am currently enrolled is denying my fafsa and its half way through a semester and no way to pay for it let alone books. I dropped out from UMUC over a semester and a half ago and they are still screwing me over. What a waste of... Read More

I was a military brat and graduated from high school overseas and signed up for one of the few colleges available at the military base. The school overall was good. I took a break in the middle of it and took my time getting the degree and actually changed my major 3 times before earning enough credits for the Environmental Management and Social Science double major. After changing my major the last time and during the time I finished the classes they changed the name to Environmental Science. I... Read More

If you want to graduate with some knowledge, then this "school" is not for you. The only advantage this school can offer for you is the opportunity to get a graduate degree somewhere else because it is still considered to be accredited. The professors in this school do not care about you, you are left alone to read your books, the students complain that open book exams are hard. I can go on and on. The only reason why I went there because they accepted my credits from the military, and since I was... Read More
