The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor is a great school. It feels like a second home. They had many activities for students to enjoy and get involved in. The professors cared about their students and their success. It didn’t feel like it was just a job for them.

Horrible University regarding the FNP MSN program. I attended this University as an undergrad and held a very high GPA and graduated with my BSN. I returned some years later to obtain my MSN-FNP and was flabbergasted by the horrendous lack of teaching (hybrid program) and continuous attempts by the school to continue pushing people through the program. After attending for a year and a half, I was 2 semesters away from graduating when I realized that there was no way I was prepared to be a provider.... Read More

Graduate Students at UMHB are well prepared educationally, exposed to multiple mindsets from the diverse classroom populations, and genuinely cared for by the professors. Professors at UMHB want their students to succeed not just academically but in life as well. After graduating from here I realized that the professors invest so much in you to ensure that you succeed once you have graduated. In the classroom I learned that all of my professors had outstanding experience in the field that they were... Read More

The pros of this university is the fact that it is a private school. It is related to a very prestigious university. It is also convenient to where I live. The only con is the price of tuition for graduate school.

This program is faith centered, but very practical in the real world. The course work is relevant and challenging. The instructors are committed to the success of the program and the students. The faculty solicit input from the doctoral candidates for continuous improvement. The cost is a bit pricey, but the school offers scholarships to offset some of the costs. I could not be more pleased.

It is a fairly new program, so they're still ironing out some of the finer details. I like that they're a mix of online and classroom. It gives everyone a chance to meet each other face to face, as well as ask any pertinent questions pertaining to any assignments.

A few of the pros for the UMHB graduate program for FNP's are: The school is small and the attention is plentiful and individualized. The professors are scholarly and always willing to help and the information is up to date and competitive with other programs. The cons are few and consist of: It is a private college, so it is expensive to attend and they haven't yet transitioned to an all online program.
