The university had many options for financial support, helping students to be near debt free when graduating. That said, the school lacks alumni networks, networking opportunities and communities that can help you build your career and explore options for after graduation. The English program was also something I chose because it was the closest I could get to honing my writing skills to work in PR as the school of communications had many more requirements that weren't even needed to become successful... I personally had a great experience here. I was not super excited to go here but wow I was wrong. I was very involved on campus and this really helped my future career as a physician. I would definitely recommend UIC. I also realized how much I like to live in the city. This school pushed me out of my comfort zone in the best way.

I personally very much Enjoyed going to the University of Illinois at Chicago. My professors and classes were well organized and focused a great deal in creating a positive learning environment. This was one of the better options living 45 minutes away from the Chicago Land area. I would recommend this college to my friends because the campus is a mile away from Union Station so the commute is really easy. I liked my time there.

I received good education and I really enjoyed my school's psychology program. I also like many of the elctive courses that I had to take. I thought the school needed more classes and more instructors when registering for classes when going there because I sometimes found it hard to make a good semester schedule with what was available.

I attended the University of Illinois and majored in Business. The academics were strong, especially the marketing and finance courses. Professors were knowledgeable and accessible during office hours. However, class sizes for some core courses were too large, making it hard to get individual attention. The career center was helpful with resume reviews and internship placements. Campus life was vibrant with many student organizations to join. Overall, I would recommend this school to others, especially... Read More

I appreciated the diversity and location of the university. I felt like it was a positive experience overall, and I think others would enjoy what the school has to offer. There are a variety of different courses and class sizes. The location is also great and close to downtown.

UIC was a great place to go for undergrad. I made tons of friends, and the music faculty was extremely skilled, and really attentive to the needs of the student population. I felt that I grew a lot during my time at UIC, and had tons of opportunities to express myself, and actually help build programs for the school itself

UIC was an excellent school for learning and a terrible school for growing. Since it's a commuter campus and I lived on campus, I usually felt lonely and trapped and the school's social options were abysmal. It was really difficult to felt like I belonged. However, at the end of my four years I felt like I had grown into a much more well-read and intelligent person.

Although the location of the school is great to have things to do outside of classes, the campus itself is not the best. Most of the architecture is horrible and many of the seating areas were always packed due to how many students there are on campus. A significant amount of the classes I took and the professors I had were pretty bad.

the school is a good place to further your musical knowledge. I would recommend to young musicians if they are planning on having hands on experience in the field. My instructors did everything in their power to further my understanding as well as my opportunities.

I believe that the education that I received at UIC was great for considering the circumstances of what was occurring in the world at the time. All of the professors I have had communicated very well, and adapted well to the hybrid and remote classes once Covid impacted my school year. The education was great and very impactful.

I have nothing but great things to say about the CUPPA department at UIC. Despite attending during the height of COVID with most classes transitioning to virtual learning, all of my courses were engaging and interesting. The two courses that I would highlight are the Freshwater Labs and Sustainable Mobility courses which allowed me to find internships and work on real-life project proposals.
The only negative I would highlight is that campus culture is lacking, but being in Chicago there is plenty... Read More

I attended University of Illinois at Chicago where I studied accounting and finance. I also minored in information systems. Overall, I give this college a rating of 4 out of 5 stars. It is a very diverse school with students of all backgrounds, making it very welcoming. It also offers great professors and classes. There's a wide variety of majors and minors to pick from as well. The only thing I will say about this school is it's not the best option for someone who is looking to be extremely involved... Read More

UIC’s Criminology class is engaging and practical, with clear lectures, thought-provoking discussions, and assignments that connect theory to real-world criminal justice situations. The classroom environment is welcoming and interactive, encouraging questions and open discussion. Professors are approachable, and students are collaborative, making it easy to stay engaged and learn from different perspectives.

The University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) is a great university for academics, providing ample opportunities for research, internships, networking with other students, and establishing close academic relationships with faculty members, all of which I took advantage of. This means that when only considering academics, UIC is a more than sufficient school to attend. However, I had an opposite experience with the student experience. While the school attempts to market itself as an actual campus instead... Read More

I genuinely loved UIC. I am very happy that I graduated from there, and I believe it helped informed my graduate studies. I was in a solid program, and it was very easy to gain research experience. The only reason I am not giving this school 5 stars, is because the commuter culture brought it down in my opinion. If you commute, it requires extra effort to make friends and integrate. Otherwise, the school is affordable and the education was solid.

Stay as far away from the MUSE major and grad school program. Despite it being around for so long now the directors have not created a functioning program. They’re always saying it’s a new program that needs to iron out but never actually fixed the problems. Nobody in my cohort works in the museum field because our year was burnt out and given no opportunities from the directors or professors to connect with anyone in the field or gain usable skills.
