University of Georgia has a great atmosphere and large social student base. The athletics are super engaging and the academics are very strong as well. A UGA degree holds a lot of power and prestige especially in the southern US. The professors are all very qualified. I felt very prepared for my graduate program after graduating.

The University of Georgia has varying programs and scholarships that a student can take part in. It is easy to get overwhelmed with extensive options. As a minority, I would recommend students to take part in smaller groups that make it easier to network with like-minded peers. LSAMP is an organization that promotes minority participation in the STEM field. Each semester, every member is required to complete at least ten hours of community service to continue in the program. Monthly meetings involved... Read More

The University of Georgia is a wonderful school. It offers students with diverse opportunities for involvement and education. Each program prepares the students for success in every field. For instance, the ability to execute projects in methodical ways, having to quickly evaluate data and make decisions. Another being to think holistically, acknowledging there are multiple paths to achieving a goal. Many of the programs challenge your thinking and help you to train yourself to tackle the most difficult... Read More

Based on my personal experience, my undergraduate education at the University of Georgia has served me very well. I am currently a second year medical student, and I feel that UGA prepared me for the rigors of medical school. The B.S. Biology program at UGA provides a challenging and diverse environment that offers opportunities in undergraduate research, mentoring, and community service. Also- SEC football is fantastic. Go dawgs!

Absolutely loved my university: it was exactly as sporty, partying, cultured, hipster, academic, and international as I made it. Wonderful mix of students and the town of Athens has merits of its own. There's plenty of financial support for students, the student gym and athletic facilities are fantastic, five dollar student tickets to see ballet, plays, concerts make culture accessible, and the connections to internships in DC, Atlanta, and elsewhere, studying at UGA facilities in Costa Rica, Italy,... Challenging academics, large student population. Choose a major that will give you personal time with your professors. They have office hours for a reason so meet with them. The first semester there take some easy classes and use the extra time to make friends and get to know the area. Develop healthy study habits and give yourself time to study and time to go out. Go to as many football games as possible even if you do not like football. Do not take that time fore granted.
