The University of Denver, Sturm College of Law is gaining momentum in Experiential Advantage, clinics for persons who cannot afford an attorney, and national recognition. We're climbing the US News rank every year in at least one category. Our bar passage rate is up, and will likely continue to stay up. I think the school could use a little renovation on some of its courses -- certain theory courses could be altered towards Experiential Advantage, for instance. The workload is high, but that's the... Read More case for anyone going to law school who wants to stand out. The community at large is wonderful, but there is a herd-mentality sometimes. It happens when you practically live in the law building. I'm very glad that I'm attending Sturm College of Law, because I feel I am mostly getting the education that I want.

The law program at University of Denver is innovative in its use of curriculum. It allows for opportunities to learn through experiential learning opportunities. The faculty is top notch, open with their students, and generally friendly. There is very little cultural diversity in the program, especially for having incoming class sizes that near 300 students. The Career Development Office is not very effective when it comes to assisting with job opportunities outside of the state of Colorado. This... Read More is not to paint the CDO in a negative light, but it should be noted that finding work opportunities will rest largely on the part of the student if they hope to find positions outside of Colorado.

I feel as though the professional alumni network available at The University of Denver is unrivaled. Not only are the recent graduates accesible, but they are more than willing to answer any and all questions had by current graduate students that would allow them to better achieve their goals. Aside from the alumini network, the peofessors and administration are visible, accesible and approachale. Their willingness to provide the best access to the students is impressive and apprecaited. Read More is varied, which allows students to take classes both on campus and online, undoubtedly offering flexibility to all students and thus allowing them to fulfill their personal and academic responsibilities. While there are many pros to this program, there is one ultimate drawback: the cost; thus, any financial assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Pros: Compared to other law schools, the peer competition at DU is incredibly healthy; there is a sense of camaraderie and friendly competition without any of the ruthlessness other law schools are known for. The career services center is also very hands-on and the resources available to find internships or jobs are endless. Cons: As with any law school with a curve, students must deal with the bit of competition that comes with fighting to beat the curve with grades. Also, because DU is in the heart...
