I had an overall good experience at Cal. Some professors were more knowledgeable than others, and you can often tell which ones truly enjoy teaching versus the ones focused on their own research. But, I got a good enough background to do well in graduate school without needing to teach myself new concepts. The social life, diversity of the student body, and the city itself were great.

I loved attending Cal. There was a great range of people, professors are amazing. There's lots of opportunity for students to be involved in whatever they want professionally and socially. Berkeley also has a great reputation and has most certaintly helped me in job applications. I love Berkeley as a location as well -- it's a great town on its own, but then is so close to San Francisco and Oakalnd.

UC Berkeley gives you exactly what you ask of it and nothing more. To succeed you have to be very driven and intrinsically motivated, nothing is every handed over. Organizations are difficult to enter and courses tend to be graded harshly (depending on what classes you take). However, opportunities are available even as competition is fierce.

While I attended the University of California-Berkeley, it lived up to its reputation of being one of the best schools in the world. The professors of the psychology department were well-known experts in their field. Since psychology is a popular major, some of the best classes are quite large, making it difficult to form personal relationships with the professors. However, students can meet with professors during their office hours, though getting access can be competitive. Other courses have 20-30... Read More

I attended UC Berkeley for the last two years of my bachelors degree. At first, I was hesitant to attend this school and I was worried that I would not be able to keep up with others, and would become limited in other dimensions of my life, to an unhealthy balance point. However, now I believe going to this school was the best decision I made in my life. Attending this campus opened my eyes to many dimensions of life, society and the world that I was not aware of before. I came into contact with... Read More

UC Berkeley is hands down the most diverse, open-minded, and cognitively stimulating institution I have ever had the opportunity to be a part of. Every course more interesting than the one before, and each professor more passionate and knowledgable than the next. It broadens your horizon in every part of your life. It is also the most accepting and nurturing community; everyone has a place in Berkeley.

Berkeley is the greatest public school in America, I really enjoy the time here. Since the campus environment is very diversity, open and equal, I always feel comfortable and be able to blend in very well. The professors are friendly and very helpful. I just love Berkeley and Go Bears!
