I have been attending the University of Arkansas since 2022, and my experience so far has been incredibly enriching. One of the standout features of the university is its vibrant campus culture and diverse student organizations, which have helped me build lasting connections and friendships. However, I have faced some challenges with class availability or administrative processes. Compared to other universities I've attended, such as John Brown University, I feel that were less accessible

Overall, I highly recommend the University of Arkansas to prospective students, especially those interested in computer sience . The community is welcoming, and there are numerous opportunities for personal and professional development that truly enhance the college experience.

Cannot believe I have wasted so much money at this place. You will be harassed by K9 officers. You will have to fight parking for every penny you have, as they take great joy in causing you financial stress. Speaking of financial stress: there has been NO help from the college during COVID. They do not care and only want their money. Expect tough grading from the Walton business college and no leniency whatsoever. Many times what you are told to use to prepare from the exams is other not on the exam... Read More or phrased in such a strange context to purposefully confuse you and lower your grade. This is the plan, to fail you for extra revenue from you having to retake the class. Good luck getting help from your advisor, they don't care either. This is not a place that fosters inclusion and diversity. They have a statue and a college named after a man that was clearly against the civil rights movement. The school is inherently racist and I empathize with anyone of color attending this school. There is no sympathy with this college. The chancellor does nothing but send emails reminding you that there is a pandemic and that we are in this "together." I beg your pardon? Your students are struggling with money, grades and discrimination. What is done about this might you ask? Nothing. No help financially because of the virus, no grading leniency with online classes and as far as discrimination goes, how would you feel if you were a black man/woman/other on campus and had to go to a college named after a man that was against their right to equality? Not only is his name everywhere, there is a statue of him, further reminding you that you are not in a safe place.

The University of Arkansas definitely has a lot of school spirit. There are so many ways to get help at this school and they provide so many places to study. Many study tools are provided like tutoring and essay editing in the libraries and there are personal study rooms in most of the libraries too. Since the Fayetteville has such phenomenal weather, many people also study in the greek theatre and/or in hammocks around the campus. Another great aspect of this school is the gym. The only thing I have to complain about this school is that there is always construction and that the Math program is not generally very helpful.

The University of Arkansas has many resources and programs available to students. I had some really great professors and a couple that were not as helpful. Generally, it seemed like I could do really well in classes as long as I was able to put in the work and show up to class every day. The last two classes I took were actually graduate level classes, since there were so few undergrad options left. However, I was thankful that the professors allowed me to take those classes because I was able to keep a good work schedule. There are definitely plenty of extracurricular activities that I did not have a chance to take part in as a working single mom, but I also saw students that were not quite sure how to balance all of the fun stuff with their course load. The library is a great resource for students with reading rooms, some textbooks (that stay in the library), and a large number of computers. The bus system is great, which is good because trying to park on campus is a nightmare. I was blessed to have a friend that lived about a 15-minute walk from campus, so I parked at her house and walked each day. However, other students often commented on the difficulty of finding a parking spot, even after spending hundreds of dollars a year on a parking pass. Overall, it was a good experience for me and I am thankful for being able to complete my bachelors degree there.

The University of Arkansas is a wonderful school to go to if you have the opportunity. I felt my time there really felt like a full "college experience" and believe that it made me a better, more well-rounded person. The campus is one of the best parts of the university and provides a multitude of different sceneries in which to walk to classes. I truly enjoyed both the University of Arkansas and the Human and Life Sciences program. When I had to take a year off my advisory was so kind yet very cautious. She wanted me to return, and partly because she invested so much in me is the reason I did return. I have friendships that have lasted a life time. I have networked with people to this day that help with the field of early education. In addition to the great academics offered the campus is BEAUTIFUL! We are in the Boston Mountains and part... I enjoyed my time at the U of A, as it was a great place to be. Tons of events, lots of things to do around Fayetteville, and it's quite cheap compared to other larger university towns. But, that's about where I have to stop with my positive experiences. I graduated in 5 years, rather than 4, because my academic advisor made a mistake that was only discovered months after I was supposed to have received my diploma. To make the long story short, I had to take a single course in logistics 9 months... Read More after what ought to have been my graduation date in order to finally get that diploma. When I entered the U of A, I was told that 95% of graduates were hired within 3 months of their graduation, and the percentage was higher within the business college. I ended up applying for 9 months for jobs with absolutely zero assistance from the career center (despite repeated contact and inquiry) before finally getting my first full time job.... as a nanny. Since I graduated (it's been 2 years officially) I've been able to engage in a professional level job once for a total 4 months of seasonal work.

The University is not off campus friendly. Back when I started college I was able to park near campus and go to class using my remote parking permit, now days all the remote student parking lots have been replaced for resident only parking lots, leaving no other option than having to park really far away and having to take a buss to go to class. Most of the students who have the resident parking permit leave during the school break, leaving all the parking lots empty, worst part is that no one who... Read More doesn't have the resident permit can park there so these spaces are completely wasted during school break. The university of Arkansas hires professors from other countries, in most of my experiences these professors never taught a class before, they completely lack experience and have a problems with pronunciation. The problem is that these people teach important classes such as chemistry, math and economy and by having no experience they make it difficult for you to learn. All the water fountains have green tips full of gunk that makes you think it twice before refilling your water bottle.
