Most of the coursework for the Ed.D program is laughable at best. The professors are mixed, with some being decent and some being terrible. The expectations of the program are uneven and unfair. I know some people from my cohort who paid other cohort members to write their dissertations, cheated and were allowed to finish the program, fail a class and not dropped from the program, defend with no comments from their readers or advisers on anything past chapter one of their dissertation. Some people... Read More had almost no oversight over their dissertation process, while others had to go through rigorous revisions and oversight process. The issue is that a lot of the students and professors know the program is bad, but it is in everyone's best interest to go with the flow. No student wants to admit the program they got their doctorate from is a joke. No professors wants to fess up to teaching in a degree mill. The school has removed all of the requirements for entrance into the program as well. What kind of graduate program does not require GRE or MAT scores? The bottom line is that the school has gotten greedy. The graduate programs are a huge source of income, and so it is in their best interest to keep as many students enrolled in the program as possible.

I have recently completed a bachelor degree at TNU. It is indeed a great university where everyone cares about every students success. However, there is only one professor who is very arrogant, and it seems that he has some mental issues. I asked the librarian at the university if she could find me the book and even she could not find it at the library. I did want to continue with my graduate studies at TNU but once I found out that Dr. B. will teach a couple of classes on leadership and organizational behavior, I decided not to continue with my graduate studies at TNU. When I discussed my concerns about Dr. B. with a senior administrative staff, the reply I got was that I was not the first person complaining about Dr. B.. I was told that almost every term there are students complaining about him and according to that person a few years ago one entire class petitioned the dean to remove him from their class and the dean had no choice but to remove B. from teaching that particular class.

One of the main reason I chose to go into the Psychology field is to help others with mental health issues. I grew up in a rough place were often we were told that we don't cry or tough up. I know now that holding in emotions is not healthy and can do more harm than good. At Trevecca I learn value lessons in and out of the classroom. Trevecca University not only teaches you subjects or about your career--it guides you. On top of the wonderful instructors, Christ is always at the center. We are taught to be great teachers in a secular world which makes the greatest difference. Saturday and Friday schedules are perfect and even though it is hard work its not busy work. Trevecca is a wonderful institution. I learned a lot from my degree. Being a full time student with a full time job the flexibility of online options for programs is wonderful. I was able to immediately apply what I learned to my career. I'm in a non-education field but went for a "teaching degree." My instructors were very understanding of some of the challenges of not being on a campus and worked to tailor the program to accomplish both of our goals. The MBA program at Trevecca is very strenuous, however valuable. I know that what I am learning will help me become more valuable and competitive in the business world. The professors are very knowledgeable, and always willing to help. There is large diversity within the program. Several different races, backgrounds, and age groups are represented, which adds to the uniqueness of the program. I enjoyed my graduate program. The instructors are all former teachers who were more than happy to share their teaching experiences both good and bad. I love that they provided realistic expectations for new teachers. All the administrative staff are hands on and attempt to know you personally. They are a small school and that is also a plus. I love my program and I would recommend it to anyone who works a full time job and are not able to take classes during the weekdays. The only con I have is that I had to take Saturday classes that run 8 am to 4 pm. We were given several breaks during that time period including a lunch break.
