Excellent graduate faculty and challenging online program is equivalent to on-campus program. Tech Comm program is excellent.

The Professor's in Electrical department at Texas Tech University are really good and very helpful. They are available 24x7 for the students. The quality of Education is very good. Also, the office support staff and management is good. There are diverse courses available but only one course for one specific field of Electronics. Also, the on campus job scenario is not that good because of which it has become difficult for me to manage expenses.

The MBA program for work professionals at Texas Tech is an awesome program. It provides me with knowledge that I can use now in my career and the classes are so convenient for my schedule. One weekend a month we have class and all other work is back home. I highly recommend this program to anyone that is wanting to get their MBA and works full time. Wreck 'Em Tech!!

My program included a number of young faculty who are excited and enthusiastic about their research and teaching responsibilities, a quality that allows students to get exciting about their own projects.

I feel that I will benefit greatly from attending the program. The program will provide me with the tools and knowledge needed to advance my career. I've already learned so much in just the few classes that I've attended, and I know I will have the advantage over the competition in the workforce. The program may be a bit lengthy at two years and could possibly be shortened down a bit.

This program uses real world examples to learn from and expose your mind to new thought processes. This helps to apply the knowledge and put it to work immediately. I feel that I am prepared at a higher level for business with each class that I complete in the program. I am half way through the program and have already grown considerably as a leader and manager. The only con would be navigating the constraints of a full time Working Professional MBA program. It is a different format than that of... Read More

This has been my first semester in the WP-MBA. There has been 1 online (distance) course and 3 courses (4 actually because 1 course is divided into 2 subject matters). The online course has kept me busy every week and several days a week. I work full-time and I feel that the course load (especially if you count the number of hours of the courses) adds up to be like a full-time student. Being out of academia for 7 years has kick started my adrenaline but sometimes I wonder if the course load is appropriate... Read More

Currently a Working Professional MBA student, so can't speak to the benefits of having the actual degree yet. So far, I have learned a lot and have been able to apply a lot of it to my current job. The workload is about what I expected for a Working Professional program.

You get what you put into it, which is probably true of all programs, but especially true of the M.Ed programs at Tech, since most of the focus is on the PhD students. You really need to advocate for yourself in this program, but if you do reach out, and pursue your interests aggressively, the faculty and administration will support you. Education (at the time) had the second largest graduate student population on campus, so there is an element of having to fight to make yourself noticed. Overall,... Read More

The STEM MBA program has been a great experience. The faculty and staff at the Rawls care about our learning and our futures. The courses are short and quick, but I have learned a lot in them.

I am in the inaugural STEM MBA program. I really do like that it is a one-year program because it lets me move ahead in my career faster than if I had done a standard MBA. The staff and faculty support is incredible and I truly feel that everyone wants me to succeed. The content is fairly demanding given our time restraint but overall the professors view our work favorably and take into account the other responsibilities we have in our lives. Lubbock is definitely a college town so anything having... Read More

Amazing professors that really care about your learning and how you will apply it in your future. There is no academic competitiveness at all in the program which is somewhat disappointing.

Texas Tech's STEM MBA program is a great choice because the program is only one year. It focuses on what is truly important to learn through an MBA program and translates the information to STEM-related industries (oil and gas, pharmaceutical companies) to truly hit home for individuals with a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math background.

The department is close-knit and like a family. There is not the huge sense of competitiveness present at many programs. So, the environment is wonderful. However, it is not a tier 1 research university (although it is working toward it).

Texas Tech is an innovative college that has professors and staff that strive to reach each student at their level. Pregnant with my first child, I was unwilling to leave my husband for the first year of my Ph.D. program and Texas Tech was the only university willing to Skype me in during that critical first year. Now I live here on campus and am thrilled with the experience. The biggest pro is the utter brilliance of the staff and the biggest con is the lack of time to learn it all. I highly recommend... Texas Tech is a beautiful campus in an extremely affordable city. Specifically, the FCSE program is well laid out and efficient. The program easily allows you to take classes online or on campus. It is a program that non traditional students can make work, especially if they are also working full time. The only con I have is that because it is such a specialized degree there are not many class time options if you do choose to attend class on campus. Since there is smaller involvement there is usually... Read More

Great adviser, fairly good teaching because it wasn't a Tier One Research university like it is trying to become now. It will probably be going downhill when it does. Solid engineering programs that cater to the Oil & Gas industries and they hire well from there.
