I truly do not work in a field which is directly related to my master's degree or bachelor's degree. However, I found college invaluable in learning networking, independent living, and work ethic. Without obtaining my master's degree, I don't think I would have the skillset I need to do my current job, even though it may look completely unrelated.

SUNY Plattsburgh is a fantastic school for those interested in the digital media and television/broadcast majors. The staff are incredible offering full support and guidance at almost any time. Professors were punctual with grades and were always more than happy to stay and talk after class. My second semester I was asked by my professor to be his teachers assistant (high honor). I worked hard and gave 110% on all my assignments. The thing I love the most is the community in the liberal and performing... Read More

Degree: Teaching
The SUNY Plattsburgh education program is a good program that challenges its students to think of education in a broad context outside of the classroom. The combined BA/MST program is that allows students to take teaching method classes within their content field and pre-teaching/ observational experiences before entering the education program. Which I believe is beneficial to students that need some insight before making a huge finical and time commitment to a teaching/ research-intensive program.... Read More

Degree: Information Technology
SUNY Plattsburgh is a fairly small, affordable campus with mostly great professors. I started here as a Studio Art Major concentrating in Photography. Later, I became an Information Technology major and a Web Design minor. What I love about Plattsburgh is the diverse amount of degrees and fields you can go into. The degrees that I have made me a very marketable candidate for jobs so far.

Degree: Hospitality Management
PSU is a great public college in upstate, NY. I wish they had more networks with more hotels and restaurants companies for students besides Disney World college program being their major one network. I hope college will build a hotel on site for HRTM students to work at just like they have a restaurant on site.

Degree: Finance
College was a great experience both academically and socially. I knew I wanted to do something business/finance related so I went for my major from the very beginning but I recommend to others to go as undecided or general if you are unsure what you want to do. College is an expensive endeavor and I feel the first year to year-and-a-half can be more of a "growing up" time in your life and it will prevent students from changing majors multiple times.

The advantages of my graduate program at SUNY Plattsburgh are invaluable. As a student in the Mental Health Counseling program, I have enjoyed learning about the field of counseling immensely at this school. Supportive peers and engaging, passionate, professors have enriched my graduate school experience and inspired me to become a better counselor. The downside to my graduate program is that I will graduate in two years. Not only has this program begun to equip me to become a vibrant professional... Read More

I feel that my college allows me the space to grow and learn. This is the first time when I feel like the faculty and I are working well together. My professors all have real world experience and know how to help me apply it to what I will be doing after graduation. I believe that I will go into the Student Affairs field with an abundance of information. At this point in my education there are no cons in my program. The professors are flexible understanding and work with you to make sure that you... Read More

Pros: the teachers are extremely nice and helpful within the classrooms. Great combined program for childhood and special education. Cons: some of the teachers go off track a lot when teaching.

I love the BA/MST Program at Plattsburgh! The professors really care about each student and want each of us to do our best. They take the time to personally connect with students and invest in students' education. The only negative of the program, really, is that we don't get a lot of field experience provided for us in our classes.

Degree: Communications (Speech Pathology)
SUNY Plattsburgh's Speech-language pathology program is one of their well known graduate programs. This program is extremely small, 18-22 people per graduating class, which allows for easy communication and collaboration with professors and classmates. The professors don't let you fail. Graduate school is tough, and professors are aware of this. They recognize your efforts and will support you in any way to make sure you're competent in the subject matter and show proficiency. They gradually ease... Read More

Compared to the students that were in my cohort that chose not to be in the combined/master program, I feel that I will be more prepared when I go to student teach in the Spring of 2014. I believe that when I took the Special Education classes I learned more and therefore became more prepared for my student teaching. One con of my program is that it is constantly changing in order to comply with New York State regulations, which are in general ridiculous, and that my cohort was used as the guinea... Read More

My graduate program offers various courses in special education. I feel that is it a great program because you get build relationships with your professors and your peers within the program. Everyone is willing to help you with any questions you may have. I feel that the some negative problems of the program are many of the classes are online and the course load is a bit overbearing. Sometimes I feel I was not prepared enough in my undergrad program.
