St. Bonaventure University Online

St. Bonaventure is a glorious university located in the foothills of western New York. I studied psychology when I attended this school. Every professor that I worked under possessed unique characteristics that molded me into the student I am today. The faculty there possessed positive and negative qualities. I had a 1:1 class with Dr. Vogel. She was the director of the psychology program at the time, and was very informative in regard to the fieldwork that I was conducting. Although she was very... Read More pleasant and helpful, she was strict with her guidelines. I had just undergone brain surgery due to a fractured skull, and Dr. Vogel had no mercy when I was concerned about taking two finals in one day. Although she is strict, she helped me get a crucial internship that led me into the field that I love; psychology. Another great professor at the university is Dr. P.. He taught statistics. His class was painfully boring, spent more time talking about himself rather than statistics, and played favorites like a 16 year old girl in high school. Aside from the negatives, he was very helpful for the students who would like to apply to graduate school. He spent a lot of time with us running workshops for the application process. His workshop aided me in my application process and was a confounding variable in my admission to a graduate program. Dr. Walker is another remarkable professor. One could tell that he loves his job. Learning from a man that is truly passionate for the field that one is embarking helps to provide motivation for someone who has not yet experienced the field in the real world. St. Bonaventure is an amazing school. It made me who I am today and I dont regret a single decision that I made there.

I feel many of the professors have real world experience to share with students. Technology in the classroom can be a little more up to date, but will be when the new school of business opens in Fall 2013. The town surrounding the school is small but quaint. I love the homey feel and how everyone gathers for school events and supports the students. The career center support is excellent! They help with resumes to cover letters and even take the time to check with you later on your job search. Campus... Read More safety is good, with little crime on campus. There are occasional students sent to the hospital for alcohol poisoning, but that is not the norm. As for social life, there is always a lot going on around campus or in town. The performing arts center always has concerts, plays, and recitals. The Reilly Center always has sporting events. The Richter Center is open late hours and early mornings with tennis courts, volleyball nets, raquetball courts, and a running track.
