South College

I am onto my fourth class in my DBA program. As an online student, I find it useful that my advisor and I speak every week, if only for a few minutes to catch up. I chose South College due to it's lower cost compared to other DBA programs and because I would not have to travel out of town for in person residencies. I received a phone from this school with high hopes, the over the phone conversation was very convincing and persuasive. Speaking to the school representative I requested to have on campus classes and was told that could happen. The day I go to the school for enrollment I was told that I wouldn’t be doing classes online. I specifically requested to have classes on the campus not online. I still signed up for these classes going back-and-forth with myself after doing it made me feel like I shouldn’t... Read More have. Went forward with what I did not agree with the first day of school came and day three came and I contact admissions and let them know I will not be talked out of my decision. I do not want to do online classes and then the representative decided to say oh we can make that happen for you, but you didn’t do it the day of me entering the school on Enrollment so with this red flag, I decided I would not go any further. This School will talk you into what you don’t want in order to receive funding. They have a bunch of videos teaching you instead of the teacher teaching you, but the teachers get paid for the videos that they push out for you to learn through videos I learned all of this in three days and decided to discontinue with this college. Be careful where you choose to go pursue your degrees.

For anyone considering South College, I would strongly recommend exploring other institutions that prioritize student success, offer clear guidance, and maintain a consistent standard across their faculty. This has not been the positive educational experience I was hoping for.

Good god. Please disregard all those professionally bull crap 5 star answers! Hopefully you can tell most of those 5 star reviews are just the staff.... the system at south college is easy. After attending South College in Atlanta, I am unimpressed. It came recommended to me by a previous school counselor while I was obtaining my Associate Degree in Medical Assisting. I feel as if the school was very ill-prepared. I did all of my prerequisites online, which is not a big deal. But the teachers were very unavailable unless they were telling you that they were giving you a failing grade. It was rather unhelpful. The student counselors are even worse. They lost my previous transcripts, twice. It was just an utter mess. I am happy to have finished getting my Associate's Degree in Pre-Nursing because I am moving on to a different, hopefully, better school. According to my SWAT Analysis, I found out that it provides small classes in compare to University of Tennessee, so students can get more attention and have a space to engage in strategic discussion. Whereas in University of Tennessee, they have average classes of 80 to 150 students which will make difficult for students to have one on one conversation. South college has a 3 year (accelerated) PharmD program. The school of pharmacy is actually at a satellite building away from the main campus along with the PA and nursing students. The teachers are amazing and are genuinely interested in your education and bettering the students. Many of the professors also have a PharmD degree and cater the courses to what you will need to know in practice. The class size is usually around 70-80 which makes for a small, tight knit class.
