I am a graduate of the medical assistant certificate program, and I finished in 2017. I am so happy I did this and I have been employed for 6 years by two major hospital systems in my state. While hands on skills were limited to none during the program, the externship provided some experience to help my confidence. I'm currently attending SJVC Temecula's Electrical program, I have already graduated from their HVAC program. Overall I have liked my experience here, my admissions and financial advisors were always friendly and helpful. For the most part, my teachers have been helpful and supportive. I had classmates who would complain that they weren't learning much, but they don't show up to class half the time. You get out of the program what you put into it. Career services had a lot of people leave during... Read More covid, so they're not the best at responding right now, but I recently got an advisor who has been helpful. I'm now working in the HVAC field, decent money off the bat, but promised more once I get more experience with their company. There isn't always the best communication, but I just ask my counselor and she always helps me. I'd recommend the trades programs at Temecula campus.

Arrived at the HVAC program to find it mostly run down at the Temecula Campus. The rest of the school implemented ID card access points to enter the building for safety, considering all the school shootings. However, anyone at any time can just walk into HVAC and do pretty much whatever they want. The equipment used for hands on exercises are old and hardly work. The program was severely lacking tools, so much so that the instructors had to bring their personal tools to class for students. Good luck... Read More trying to log into ANY of the school laptops because they are old and so far gone they struggle to do any basic function. Took and passed the CPR cert and the school attempted to deny that I ever went to the class, which then required me to send them photo and video evidence; still did not receive my COR cert. Left the school completely due to atrocious levels of greed and unprofessionalism. Stay away from this place.

Me and some friends decided to check out some education and training courses.Compare some in the bay area and the valley, Modesto We all had slightly different interests and skills. So we went to sjvc. They were selling it hard, pushing all the dreams. I went in to electric and well I was disappointed. Read More more concerned with appearances. Others uniform or if your tats were showing and not if you were doing good or had problems. My friend took the industrial maintenance course and said the students were teaching each other, the instructor kind of just sat there and followed a schedule and seemed like he didnt know what he was doing. Our other guy from our group took Criminal justice and loved it. Said the manager taught most of the classes and was very good. Also he did get hired by a sheriffs department with the program managers help and people he worked with. the career services were pushing him to be a security guard and yeah who pays a ton of money to become a guard. career services found some electrical jobs leads, but nothing great above labor. My friend in IT took some different training from an employer where he learned more and got paid to learn. He regretted it. For the cost and return wasnt worth it for me or my cousin that took it. So one out of 4 of us feel it was good. My cousin got a better job in the bay area but not sure if it was because of this electric training or his other work experience.

Hello this review is to share how how disappointed I am. I completed my pharmacy tech coarse with perfect attendance and a 3.8 GPA I tried really hard to do everything accordingly just to have the school treat me like nothing of importance. I endd in October had my graduation in November passed the PTCB test have a job available since November to find out that my application for license was never received by the board that not until after my 3rd visit to the campus after receiving a message from... Read More the board that my application was never submitted did I get some honesty according to the campus president it wasn't sent until January. It is March and I an still without a license but totally submerged in debt. So when I receive messages about repayment which of course I have to be informed of. I can't help but feel completely alone unsure and disappointed in trying to pursue more for myself and to know this school could care less. What do I do. I can't go back in time and select a different campus but sometimes I wish I did.

I went to this school after graduating boot camp for the National Guard because I was interested in the Associate of Criminal Justice Degree. The coursework was ridiculously easy, I have no idea how people did not pass other than they did not want to show up to class. However, they will squeeze you financially for all that you got. Not to mention when I first enrolled the lady doing my financial aid erroneously advised me I could not use my Montgomery GI Bill since I had not served on active duty.... Read More It was not until eight months later I decided to ask the financial officers again why I was not allowed to use my GI Bill and they were totally confused why I had not been approved. Sadly I could not remember that lady's name who screwed me over when they asked. I graduated with my Associate Degree with a debt of $15,000. You are definitely paying for your degree here. I don't know about the other programs but the career services department only links you up with crappy jobs.

bad experience as scool, expensive. great time with students. but my guess is every private school is about the same now: get the money, grill the students to get passing scores, and get the students out. it boils down to what you want to get out the program. i can tell there were a few great inspiring professors, but most were about the gossip. NO ONE WILL FEED YOU THE KNOWLEDGE. prepare yourself , teach yourself, get a strong group of peers to get through it. quiz yourselves even when youre drinking,... Read More excercising , cooking, etc. plan on getting each one different quizz books to help each other (books are expensive). if you master ATI, you will pass Nclex. it was fast paced, but so its the real nursing. in real nursing it wont be about failing a test or mocking the students, etc. it gets worse. Your patient can die, you can actually harm someone, lose your job, fail a family, get sued. its a beautiful career, with big responsibility. That is the real msg. Dont fall in the trap of competition . help each other, stay together. thats how you succeed. it always feels as if you just keep your nose above the water, but it will be fine. i managed to work PT during school, n worked out fine for me. theres minimal to no tutoring help/ programs. overal rewarding career, good money, hard work.

I'm a current student at SJVC Rancho. DO NOT ENROLL HERE FOR RESPIRATORY THERAPY! If I hadn't already spend the money I would transfers. We got a new director and the place is going down hill. We were just told today that if we don't pass our practice TMCE we will not graduate. How in God's name are you going to implement something like this one mo th from graduation.
