It wasn't as diverse as I wish it was. But okay overall. Its in Connecticut so its not a super active area, but there are things to do on campus. Housing isn't bad compared to older schools and the food is okay. The price for tuition though is not worth it. Start at a community College first

I absolutely loved my time at Sacred Heart. The classes were both informative and engaging, and the staff were always there to help if you needed additional help. I attended Sacred Heart for both my undergraduate and my graduate degrees, and it truly did become my home away from home. The campus is absolutely gorgeous, and the buildings are all state-of-the-art.

When I attended Sacred Heart I felt like the academics were influential in firming my ability to analyze arguments and look critically at information. The classes that I attended there were massively varied and could be tailored to one’s interests. For example my Philosophy of Science class taught me to look at how even empirical data can be influenced by paradigms of that current time.

Sacred heart provided me with a wonderful experience! The classes were challenging and engaging and campus life was great! I thought the curriculum was too structured and I feel that a lot of the core classes I do not use in my job today. I wish I spent more classes preparing for my graduate curriculum than having to take so many core classes.

Sacred Heart was a great experience both academically and socially! The psychology professors were excellent at teaching material and getting to know students and individualistic way. In terms of social environment there was always something to do and some way to be involved.

Been a nursing student for more than 5 years. I️ have learned the lack of help this school truly gives to its students. They do not change policies that are harmful to the student body and prioritize their clean record on the NCLEX. Removing students who have the skills and give no options to pursue the field with the skills. Truly does a disservice to local hospitals like Hartford Healthcare. Truly at a loss for words for the lack of care these healthcare professionals have for their students. They... Read More

If you want to be a FNP do not go here. This program has taught me nothing. Its extremely punitive even though they know we're all full time nurses during a pandemic. They don't help you with anything. They don't help you get any of your clinical placements and don't care that the majority of my class doesn't have a site. I genuinely hate it and have no interest in being an NP anymore. Going here has been my biggest regret.

School was ok overall, had great professors in the Psychology and Sociology department. Not enough diversity, it's definitely getting better though. Food was alright. The school is close to the mall which is nice. The school has been buying a lot of property so it will be more new and innovate buildings. Has a great nursing program and business program as well.

I received my BS in chemistry with a concentration in biochemistry, so I was a student of the chemistry department. At SHU, the biology department is much larger than the chemistry department, which has its pros and cons. A con is that it can seem like more resources are allocated to the biology department. However, the class sizes in the chemistry department are much smaller and make for a much more personalized experienced. The chemistry department also has wonder and bright professors that are... I absolutely loved my time at Sacred Heart University. The athletic training program is incredibly difficult. It was also pretty small, but now, with the new building that was created for the College of Health Sciences, the program will grow leaps and bounds. Housing on campus is pretty tight for upperclassmen, but there are plenty of houses nearby to rent and I believe this made my college experience even better. Overall, Sacred Heart is an up and coming school that has plenty of potential. Even... Read More

Sacred Heart University is an amazing college for anyone who wants a relationship with their professors. The small class size allows students to have easy access to their professors and form professional relationships with them that open up for networking opportunities. Professors at Sacred Heart want their students to succeed and want to ensure their students are in the correct field and know what their goals are after graduation.

Sacred Heart University is a small campus that is located in the Fairfield/Bridgeport area of Connecticut. Sacred Heart has given me many opportunities when I was attending for the four years. Not only did they have a great curriculum for academics, but also outside in the community like volunteering. Our campus offered many organizations and clubs to join, all diverse in many ways. The diversity ranged from individuals in the club and what the goal was for each club/organization. I was involved... Read More

I loved the psychology program and really enjoyed all of my teachers. However, the biggest problem that I encountered with this school was the administration. When needing help on various issues such as financial aid, registration, and even graduation, I was frequently met with resistance even if it was a simple question. Unfortunately, I was hardly the only student who encountered these issues. I graduated a few years ago so I hope that things have changed by now.

SHU is an incredible community suited for the brightest students looking to use their talents to benefit others. The goal of all students is to leave Sacred Heart in a place that it better than when they arrived. As a result the University is one of the fastest growing in the country. Nevertheless, SHU has not lost its commitment to students who advocate for themselves and seek leadership not for their resume, but for their future communities.

The goal of their program s to educate fully so that their students have a strong knowledge and are well prepared for the real world of therapy.
