As a current student in Health Information Technology, and 100% of my courses are online; I find myself self teaching. Teaching yourself while attending 100% online is difficult overall, however feedback, responding to questions in a timely manner, or even having your overall grades completed so you can see your score from previous assignments, and try figuring out where you went wrong is a mere dream attending this college. I would say to those who are looking to have time flexibility and able to... Read More

I started online courses with Rasmussen in February of this year. I have taken other courses at other colleges before so thought I would do just fine. From the moment I started their online courses, I was lost. Their website platform is the most confusing website I have ever been on. By the time you figure it out, you are either going crazy with stress or getting behind in your classes. With all the courses I have taken before none of them were used for credit. So I have to take the CBA courses to... Read More

Spend your money elsewhere. Rasmussen will say/do anything to get in your wallet & once they have their hooks in you, all support stops. Some insight to how Rasmussen conducts themselves as a business - I attended this school for nearly 2 years, plenty of time for them to build a dossier of sorts on me as a student there, or at least maintain an academic record via transcript right? Well I just (today, 1/25/18) received an email from the program director inquiring about my expressed interest in attending... Read More

I see a lot of negative reviews on this school, but it is a great school. The teachers are very helpful and they give you what you need to succeed. Nothing in life is easy and the workload at any school isn't easy. This school really helped me to achieve my goals.

I failed 1 coding class due to not having time to focus, I dealt with the sudden death of my younger brother and fell behind and did not understand the information as necessary. I informed my advisor that I needed to drop the class and try again the next semester when I had a clear mind and that I would sign up for a tutor. I did these things, my advisor and tutor cheered me on and reminded me that I only needed a 73% to pass. I received a 75%, great right? Wrong! I was misinformed and my new advisor... Read More

I am shocked at the negative reviews! I just graduated with my Assoc. Degree and last fall I graduated with Medical Billing and Coding certification. It was a great program, I am very please with the instructors, very knowledgeable and the courses! I made honor roll quite a few times. As a older adult doing online college education I couldn't be happier with my experience from my first phone call! I see most the negative comments on the Computer Information program, maybe this isn't the school well... Read More

I would not recommend this school, not because they aren't providing good educational opportunities but it is way to expensive for the quality of education they provide. I also would not recommend this school, because personally I think the instructors aren't giving 100%. Is obtaining the degree at this school possible? yes Will you learn? yes, but trust me they will drain your pockets.... Yes I graduated but with over 16K in debt. Take my advice.

I wasn't going to write a review, but felt compelled to do so after reading poor reviews. I had an EXCELLENT experience at Rasmussen. I attended online via the Ocala, FL campus. My advisors and point of contact were all extremely prompt, informative, and professional. I did A LOT of research before picking a school that would fit my needs. Yes, it's a tad pricey, but for never having to step foot on a campus, books included, and graduating ahead of schedule- what would one expect? I previously attended... Read More

Update..... I do not know how to reply to comment however, my views on this school is the same. Inexpensive and supportive staff. Full time students pay $199 per credit hour plus fees. Part time students pay $260 per credit hour. Either way tuition is much cheaper than most schools. Teachers respond in a timely manner and my advisor do as well and she often check in on me. Classes are very intense especially at 5.5 weeks long. Online schooling isn't for everyone so maybe that's what calls for some... Read More

I am seeing all these bad reviews and I am like really. This school is very intense. They are fast past 5.5 week course. You have to be willing to put in the work. I just completed my second term. It was hard but I learned. My teachers were very helpful and informative. I can email or call my advisor and get a quick response. No later than 1 business day but I usually hear from her way sooner. I been to a lot of online schools and I finally found a online school to fit my busy life style. It's very... Read More

Worse choice I EVER made in my entire life! At 50 years old I wanted to change careers and after Tens of Thousands of dollars and student loans, everything at Rasmussen is ABSOLUTELY WORTHLESS!!! I can not transfer any of the 60+ credits I earned because they are not accredited nationally.

I attended Rasmussen College for their Health Information Technology Associates Degree Program. The classes I took were very informative and the teachers were great. Questions were answered on a timely basis along with grades and comments presented in an easily understood manner. That's about where my good experience stops. They have self paced classes where you receive only a pass or fail grade and really don't apply to your education. When I asked my advisor why this was, she really couldn't give... Read More

There aren't any internships associated with Medical Administration, medical coding or billing. I am working at a local hospital, 20 hours a week maximum $11/hr, $12,000 a year. The Human Resource Department at Rasmussen is a waste of space for the college. The person does not return telephone calls and was zero help with finding employment in my field.
