Best Reviewed Student Reviews Other ReviewedOnline college reviews offer one of the most authentic ways to measure the quality of a higher education institution because they are based on firsthand, lived experiences. We have collected over 90,000 verified reviews over nearly two decades.
Our approach with this list centers around the student perspective. To ensure a strong representation of primarily online schools, our methodology only includes schools with at least 25,000 online students (or where at least 50% of students are enrolled online). These online colleges are sorted by their average student review ratings on a 5-point scale. We feature the top 25 best reviewed online schools followed by an alphabetical list of all remaining online colleges we feature on our site with students reviews.

Student-Recommended Online Schools
The online schools on this list are highly recommended by current students and alumni. Ratings are based on student reviews collected since 2008, totaling thousands of reviews of more than 2,400 schools. Keep in mind that the relatively small sample size of online school reviewers for any given school, as well as personal reviewer biases, can skew a school's rating positively or negatively. However, every review is vetted to ensure authenticity before being published.

When I decided to come back to school I was super nervous because it had been 24 years since I had been in school. The staff made me feel welcome, and like I always had all the support I needed. I graduated with honors, and I am now confident enough to were I am pursuing my Bachelor's in Health Information Management. I enjoyed the flexibility of the classes which made it much easier to juggle with work and family. The professors are very understanding and will work with you if a crisis occurs as... Read More

I attended Ultimate Medical Academy and graduated and recieved my Associate of Science Degree in Medical Administrative Assistant and my experience was mostly positive. This program is best suited for people who have at least 5+ years work experience and are looking for a career change or leg up. A lot of the classes require independent work and study, but that works out perfectly if you have a hectic schedule. Some teachers are better than others, so ensure you use ratemyprofessor to choose classes based on your needs. Fantastic program! love that it’s AACSB accredited & such a great value for the money! I had 4 classes under my belt when they upped prices so ended up paying around $13,000 for my degree (I’m in the last session with only a few weeks left & have already applied for graduation!🎉)
The FB group & joining the GroupMes are a must. Definitely research what professors go best with your individual learning style. I doubled up to finish in 10 months which was a little nuts, but did it juggling 3 kids and... Read More

Aspen was the perfect university for me - someone who worked full time, with a young one (1-3 years old), and who required the flexibility in both scheduling as well as payment options. My faculty mentor, Dr. Pearce, was AMAZINGLY supportive and one of the reasons why I’ve enjoyed my time at Aspen university so much. I’ve recommended this school to other colleagues and have recruited 2 more students to the DNP program.
However, I am very disappointed that they cancelled the 2025 graduation ceremony.... Read More

Completed my Bachelor of Science in Nursing online through Aspen University. Tuition was affordable and could be done in installments. I also got a discount from work. Classes were 8 weeks long with manageable workload and good instructors. Each class was unique and contributed to my learning as a nurse. I thought this would take long, but it ended up being faster than I thought. My academic advisors were very helpful and answered all my questions.

Although I had an excellent experience attending Arizona State University, I have not been able to succeed within the job market based on my degree. While this experience does not reflect the university's merit, I do have some regrets about pursuing a degree before securing a job or career path.

I was able to have an In person schooling for Undergrad and online schooling for my Graduate course. Bothe are unique experiences. I would recommend, if you can, to do university in person. Teachers are very open to having you reach out to them for any class problems or will reach out to you if something isn't going well. I've only taken a few classes with them, but so far it feels more like a "box check" place for the degree. However, I do like the all online format for the MBA and the price is very reasonable as well for those that are more economically minded. I'll withhold full judgement until after I graduate and hopefully get a job within the business field.

The structure of the classes is taking one to two classes at a time for 8 weeks total. It allows for more individual time with your class. I was able to really focus on the subject material instead of trying to juggle multiple classes as I did for my Bachelor's at a different college. The teachers were attentive and answered questions quickly and efficiently. The online environment allowed me to work and raise my family while still going to school. Overall, I enjoyed my time here.

I had a pretty good experience with Troy University that almost didn’t happen. Long story short, I was denied admission because my gpa from 10+ years ago was really bad. I decided to reach out and send an email asking for reconsideration based on not being the same student I was ten years ago and that I understood their decision, but felt I would be doing myself a disservice if I didn’t ask for reconsideration. A week or two later, I was admitted conditionally (no big deal). All of this was thanks... Read More

In my cybersecurity program it moved rapidly. When doing labs there were quite a few labs that there were technical issues and usually the teacher would tell you just to go on to the next lab or move to the section of labs so sometimes you would miss important facts. Teachers would reply in a timely manner.I have had to go elsewhere to get the education needed. I came out not ready for employment. I didn't get the codes or enough information to do procedures.

I really enjoyed my time at WGU, especially compared to my first college experience going to an in-person traditional brick and mortar college. The thing I liked most is that WGU's model is competency-based and self-paced, allowing you to complete the program in however long you can while fitting to your personal circumstances. Plus, the tuition is fixed and very fairly priced, compared to most colleges. Because of WGU's model, I was able to finish my degree in 2 and half months (minus the GEs which... Read More

I attended the AMU arm of the APUS systems. I don't think that makes any difference but it might. Most of my professors were knowledgeable and easy to contact when issues arose. The 8 week classes vs a 16 week schedule meant I took the same amount of classes, but in two eight week blocks which fit my lifestyle and learning style better than a traditional 16 college. I have family in brick and mortar colleges and the course load and work seems on par, or slightly harder, at AMU. If you want to learn... Read More
One other factor of the APUS schools are that books and learning materials are included with tuition, so you never have to figure out how much extra everything is going to cost. When looking at the APUS online school vs a brick and mortar location, you will save a lot of money due to not needing to stay in dorms, not needing a parking pass, not needing transportation, and not needing to be nickel and dimed for test booklets, supplies, and books.

Bellevue offered me the opportunity to get an advanced degree with an online-only program that allowed me to still work a demanding, full-time job. Despite being an online-only program, I felt like it was a strong education, and I still had good, consistent access to all of my professors. The completion of this degree opened professional doors to me that would've otherwise remained closed, and allowed me to get where I am today. On the whole, it was a great experience!

I was previously enrolled in another university before attending Strayer. It was also online and there just wasn't the amount of help and engagement I wanted from a university. I had to sadly withdraw due to work and life but if I could go back to finish my last two years, it would be back to Strayer.
