The school appears to going through many changes and the effects of that are impacting the students and communities. The frequent professor changes and cutting of vital academic programs has caused many folks great distress. As a current social work student, there was no/minimal information provided on potential support from the university if funding was cut based on recent policy changes. That said, the professors that I have interacted with are passionate, involved, & eager to assist in research/coursework... Read More

Our Lady of the Lake was a great university. I received an education that I am proud of. They offered not only academic programs, but had (at the time) intramural sports, an amazing student government program, and even a student sharing program with a sister school in Japan. We had a lot of social activities both on campus and in the community. There was basically something for everyone. I really wish that I had taken part in more of these activities.

This program has been disorganized and the professor seem not to care about anything but getting paid. Once you are in your internship and if things are not right you are stuck even if you address concerns. The the people do not care about you as a person just as a number.
Online MSW program not worth the money

I am in the online MSW program and regret my decision to come here. The professors are hard to reach and don't seem to care. All the classes are pre-made and it seems like some professors aren't even familiar with the assignments. I feel I am paying way to much for the education I am receiving.

The class sizes were small, and the class schedule met my needs.

You will definitely get counseling experience in this program through practicum and internship the last two years of the three year program, but it's very expensive since this is a private university.

Relaxing, cozy campus. Great programs. Knowledgeable teachers. At OLLU you are not just a number. Near many eateries.

Our Lady of the Lake University, prepared me for my current position as an Elementary School Counselor. My advisers were there for me every step of the program and ensured I had the skills to be an effective counselor. The experience on the campus was one of being a big family and I was encouraged at every corner. I was encouraged not to stop with this degree and now back in college working toward my doctrine in education.

Current online MSW student . School is great. There are those meetings and a flexible schedule do you have the option to double up on courses if you want to finish faster. Assignments are not too bad. Tons reading is involved & Group work as well . The group work kind of makes it to where it's hard for you to get things done ahead of time , have to try to collaborate with five other people all online. Some of the assignments could be a little clearer but you can always message the teacher for clarification.... Read More

I applied to OLLU and from the very start, I loved it. The admissions process was easy and the counselor was amazing and always willing to hep me with my questions and continued to reach out to me throughout my admissions process. My classes were already designed for me and my advisor enrolled me in my classes each term so I didn't have to worry about that. The professors were incredible helpful as well. They always got back to me within 24 hours and if they couldn't they made sure I knew they would... Read More

Pros: Student to teacher ratio is 3:1 which is perfect to get more of a teacher one on one. Also love how my school pushes us to get involved outside of school in our field of interest which gives us a more hands on knowledge. Cons: Very expensive and hard to get funds for.

The program is very interactive. The professors are knowledgeable and understanding. The school is not in the best area. The network goes down sometimes and the library can't be accessed.

The program offered an amazing educational experience. I love how the faculty was completely supportive and always there to challenge me. On the other hand, I think the program would have been more helpful if they had a few more professors on staff. It would have been nice to see more diversity among the faculty.

This graduate program is rigorous, but provides students with tools they will need to advance their knowledge and skills. The professors are responsive and highly qualified. Many have had both real world and academic leadership roles and possess years of expertise. I love OLLU!

The good thing about OLLU's graduate program is that the small class sizes allows for one-on-one interaction with professors. Also, the program covers a wide range of topics related to the field, including marketing, accounting, economics, and business law.

My graduate program was designed as a full time program for students who also work full time; I am successfully doing both. The workload is reasonable and the faculty in the program are knowledgeable and supportive. The program is in the works of becoming NASP accredited with will undoubtedly make it more competitive than it currently is. I love the flexibility of the online program, but miss the human interaction I got when I attended traditional courses. The faculty and staff are open to other means of interaction that had been beneficial when I lived outside of San Antonio, TX.
