The Clinical Psychology Psy.D. program at Nova Southeastern University is overall an amazing program. I am about to start my second year and had an incredible first year in the program. I enjoyed all of my classes and found them to be engaging and very beneficial to my future career as a Clinical Psychologist. I also had the opportunity to travel with a professor and seven other students to Swaziland, a small country in South Africa, on a humanitarian trip to provide counseling and services to impoverished... Read More and underserved communities around the country. This was a once in a lifetime experience that I will treasure forever. Of course, not every school can be perfect. The program is very large, which has its benefits, but also makes it difficult to have access to faculty and training in your specific area of interest. It is also a very expensive program, which is why I spend the vast majority of my free time applying for scholarships to help me pay off my ever-growing loans. Despite its imperfections, I would definitely highly recommend NSU's Psy.D. program to anyone wishing to pursue a career as a Clinical Psychologist.

Overall, the Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology at Nova Southeastern University's Center for Psychological Studies is an amazing program. It is interesting because many of the pros of the program are also its cons, and vice versa. For example the Psy.D. program is very large compared to other Psy.D. programs. Read More the large class size does make it difficult to get noticed and to get opportunities to work with faculty on research projects, which can foster a competitive atmosphere among students. Similarly, it is great that NSU offers courses taught by a variety of professors. The upside is that each professor has their unique teaching style which again allows for a diverse and exciting learning experience. The downside is that there are often varying standards and workloads between professors teaching the same classes. I am about to start my second year in the program and overall I am very pleased. I knew I wanted to attend NSU and in fact, it was the only graduate school that I applied to. Every school has its issues, but overall, I think the pros outweigh the cons of the Psy.D. program at NSU's Center for Psychological Studies and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a place to earn a Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology.

Nova Southeastern University has been the best decision I could make in completing my doctorate. The faculty in the program are very supportive and hands on in their teaching approach. The work load is reasonable and assistance is readily available. The campus is very clean and beautiful. Cons associated with attending Nova solely fall under the cost to attend the institution. Another con to the doctoral program is the small amount of classes the institution is willing to take from students coming into the program with a Master's level degree in a directly related field.

Pros- My graduate program offers a range of classes and concentrations that are really tailored to the interests and passions of the students. The professors are extremely helpful and understanding concerning class or program questions. The class sizes are very small, which offers a more hands on form of learning. I would like to live debt free however, student loans, tuition fees, and books are very expensive causing me to stress not only over my classes but my finances. Other than that typical complaint, my graduate program facilitates my learning and is efficiently preparing me for my future.

Some of the pros in my graduate program is that the students benefit from having the expertise of full-time faculty whose primary interests and expertise are in the field of school psychology.
