Degree: Criminal Justice

The school administrators and professors were, for the most part, engaged. I would recommend Dr. Doyle and Buster for classes to take in the criminal justice degree major. I took both hybrid and online classes and was an off-campus student, so I don't have anything to say about on-campus living.

My experience at Northeastern State University has been very positive overall. One of the things I appreciate most about the university is the supportive environment created by the professors and staff. Most of my instructors have been approachable and genuinely interested in helping students succeed. Whether it was answering questions after class, offering feedback on assignments, or giving advice about career paths, I’ve always felt like the faculty wanted students to do well.

The campus itself also has a welcoming atmosphere. It’s easy to navigate, and there are plenty of places to study, relax, or meet up with friends. Student organizations and campus events also give students opportunities to get involved and connect with others who share similar interests. These activities help create a sense of community that makes the college experience more enjoyable.

In addition, Northeastern State University offers a variety of academic programs that help prepare students for their future careers. The courses I’ve taken have helped me develop practical skills that I know will be useful after graduation. I also appreciate that many professors bring real-world experience into the classroom, which makes the lessons more relevant and engaging.

Overall, my time at Northeastern State University has been a great experience. The supportive professors, smaller class sizes, welcoming campus environment, and strong academic programs all make it a place where students can learn, grow, and prepare for their future. I would definitely recommend it to students looking for a quality education and a positive college experience.

Northeastern State has been a wonderful school to attend. The professors actually care about their students, class sizes are small and we have plenty of opportunity to interact with one another and with other professors. I would definitely recommend Northeastern state to anyone who wants to further their education

The psychology program at Northeastern State University is one I would highly recommend to anyone wanting to pursue a degree in psychology. The program itself is not terribly expensive, offers a tremendous amount of experiential and academic courses, and is staffed with some of the best professors and professionals in the counseling field in the state of Oklahoma. Each professor brings something different to the table and offers a different perspective when interacting within the counseling and psychology... Read More

NSU Tahlequah was a very unique experience. The size of the school relative to the town around it allows the university life to really spill over into the rest of the area. I had an excellent relationship with most of the faculty members, and as it was a smaller program I received abundant attention and prospered because of it. The only drawbacks are the way everything seems to shut down between terms and if you do want to get away from campus life, you pretty much have to drive to Tulsa in order... Read More

I cannot say enough good things about Northeastern State University! The class sizes are small enough for the professors to know you by name and are there to help you succeed. Every professor that I have had at Northeastern State University has pushed me to be the best student I can be and formed me to become a candidate for a graduate assistant position for the Criminal Justice Masters Program. I am now half way through my first semester in the masters program and I still have nothing but good things... Read More

NSU was a great school to obtain a Master's Degree in Nursing. I had a positive experience and would encourage others to complete the program.

NSU is a great value. It offers quality education for a fraction of the cost of the bigger state schools and private universities. The campus is safe, small enough to walk from end to end between classes, but also large enough to host a variety of degrees.

I found NSU to be a more helpful college all around compared to the university I attended for my Bachelors. I was always able to find someone to help me, no matter the issue. The school itself did not offer a lot of scholarship opportunities for me however.

NSU has brought me amazing opportunities through the past three years. When I first transferred to NSU I was nervous to get involved on campus but the family environment that NSU provides its students gave me the courage to do so. Since transferring, I have joined a sorority, became a SOAR leader, I was a Rookie bridge Camp volunteer, and I won homecoming queen in the fall of 2016. I cannot say enough amazing things about this University.

I attended NSU in Broken Arrow. My classes were all online and it was nice having that option since I am a single mother, work full time, and was also going to school full time. Although my classes were online my instructors communicated very well with me. I also liked that I could do my homework any time, day or night. All of my instructors were amazing and very helpful when I had questions or concerns. The financial aid department is wonderful as well. They are always there to answer any and all... Read More

Northeastern State University offered a Bachelors degree program in Human and Family Sciences that I found to be very beneficial for my lifestyle. Some classes were on campus on a Saturday morning, but a majority of them were online. Being a full time employee, it was very beneficial. The program was a two year program offering 2 classes at a time, every 8 weeks. You were given the option to take more classes to finish early. You would usually get the same instructors for several classes, you were... Read More

I loved my university. It was small enough to provide a personal atmosphere but large enough to offer a challenging academic curriculum with a wide variety of classes available. I was able to take classes that ranged from Anthropology to Ropes and Rappelling and Ballroom Dancing. I enjoyed the campus atmosphere and the planned activities. I had a wonderful time in college!

NSU's online Masters of Science in Nursing - Education, is worth every penny. The instructors are amazing, and always willing to contact students and be helpful facilitators of knowledge. The workload is perfectly balanced; not too little, not too much. The program is online, so I cannot comment on social life, transportation, etc.; which is why I gave those areas 5/10 stars. Great school and program!

I love the graduate program at NSU. I am in a blended off campus/online program. The instructors are AMAZING. They are extremely knowledgeable and are always there to help. The campus is beautiful and and the town is rich in history. The cost to attend is the most affordable I have found. So far I haven't really found any cons of this graduate program.
