Murray State University was a great learning opportunity for me. The academic coursework that I was able to receive at Murray State University was very challenging, and rewarding for those who were willing to put in the time and the effort to attend classes and study. Murray State University offered a lot of amenities in their college campus, including a a gym, multiple areas for dining options, tennis courts, basketball courts, a park, library, music hall, and even walkability. Attending Murray State University was a great decision for me both personally and professionally. I grew as an adult and learned many lessons at MSU, both inside the classroom and outside of it. I believe I received a top notch art education, but would have benefited from a minor in a field that I could have worked in post graduation. You run a risk when you major in Art, it just didn't pan out for me as a career. My overall experience with Murray State is that is was one of the best times of my life. Murray State University is an outstanding university whose main goal is providing "education at its finest". I spent two years at Murray State, and I loved every minute of it. I could tell that each of them was very educated in the field and had current knowledge of new material and studies. More than that, I felt like they really cared if I was successful as a student and as a woman. Outside of the classroom, Murray has all sorts of activities that you can participate in. The Winners Circle is a group of students who love Racer sports and get benefits when you go to the games. We are also the college who had Ja Morant who was recently drafted by the Memphis Grizzlies. We have a great marching band and all kinds of clubs and student organizations to get involved in on campus. If you are considering Murray State, come visit and I guarantee that you will love it!

I prematurely wrote a positive review about my experience at Murray State University and I wish there was a way I could delete the review because it does accurately reflect the final outcome of me attending this school. I dealt with a close-minded professor who made bigoted commentary toward African Americans and questioned the validity of what African Americans experience(d) in the United States. Read More were made by several students about this professor being obnoxious with his grading style and making it impossible to do well in the course but he was allowed to continue teaching. I experienced covert and overt racism at Murray State University and with the exception of one professor who was really geat, the teachig was subpar. If you are an African America student, proceed with caution. Also, there is minimal financial support for graduate students. Don't expect to get any scholarships. There is minimal campus support for graduate students as most extracurricular clubs are geared toward undergraduate students. I was able to get a job upon graduating simply for the fact that the company wanted someone with a master's degree (in any field) so for that one reason, I don't completely regret going to Murray State. I met some nice people in the community and was able to make things work for myself but it wasn't the best experience overall.

I found that my college was very current with using the latest revhonology to conduct classes. Students could physically attend class or log in via web cam to attend. It was extremely convienet for me since I was working a full time job and had responsibilities to handle at home. Class times were day or evening depending on your presence and the assignments were manageable while working full time. It took me 2 years to complete my degree which is the standard. It is the best university for the money. I had a job one month after graduation. I would say the instructors I had were very capable of teaching the core content well. They were very willing to go the extra mile to see me succeed. I chose to attend Murray State University because of its well known Pre-Veterinary Medicine/Animal Health Technology Program, and I was not disappointed. I was able to double major in Pre-Veterinary Medicine and Animal Health Technology which gave me the ability to take the Veterinary Technologist National Examination after graduating in May. The staff is never afraid to work one on one with the students and they genuinely care about the success of the students. The program at Murray State is so renowned within the southeastern region for producing top notch veterinary school students, and that was told to me at almost all of my veterinary school interviews. Every school I applied to commented on how many advanced veterinary classes this university offered, and they were very impressed with how many animal experience hours and basic veterinary knowledge I had because of my veterinary classes. Because of this, I was offered acceptance into every veterinary school I applied to which included the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, the University of Missouri in Columbia, Auburn University, and the University of Florida in Gainesville. I wouldn't have been able to get into veterinary school in my first application without the help of the amazing staff at Murray State University, and I will forever be grateful for the opportunity to attend here.

Murray State University provided me with rigorous coursework, undergraduate research experience, experiential learning opportunities, clubs/organization involvement, and a great diversified learning atmosphere.
