Montclair State University

My school was mostly a commuter school so there wasn’t a whole lot of interpersonal interaction with others outside of class. Although I did join a fraternity which kept me busy. I wish I had gone to a larger school, further away from home so I could make more friends.

My time at Montclair helped me hone my craft through intensive coursework in both Theatre and Dance. They created a competitive yet healthy environment that motivated my peers and me to push each other to achieve our personal bests. The faculty consisted of seasoned, wise, and knowledgeable theatrical professionals and veterans who graciously imparted their wisdom onto us.

Montclair State University is a great college. It's a beautiful campus with so many opportunities. You will meet great people and the professors are experienced and will help you learn and even find a career afterwards. They have great programs and my advice is to get involved early.

I feel Montclair was a great school. I made a lot of great friends, developed into who I am today, and focused on school work that greatly prepared me for the "real world." However, I graduated in May 2025, and it is now February 2026; I haven't been able to pursue a career in my field. I wish I had more time to network while in school and to find internships tailored to dance. Now I am doing a lot of research and still preparing for my own post-grad.

Montclair State University provided me with a great education. The professors were challenging and expected a lot. As a commuter, it was the perfect school for me. However, it may not be a good school for students who are looking for the "college experience" as many of the students here are commuters. I feel as though I received a good education at Montclair State.

From the staff to the diverse classmates, I would recommend this university. I never felt like the odd one out. I believe that the diversity of friends and business contacts made from my experience on campus and online contributed to me being a well rounded individual. Professors were amazing in providing support outside of class hours which lead to a foundation of a great support system.

Montclair State University was satisfactory. I transferred there from a University in Pennsylvania so the college experience was definitely different. After COVID, my classes remained online for the duration of my degree. I do not necessarily believe it felt like I was even in real school, but it was overall simply okay.

i loved the university a lot , brought me a lot of experience in life and work. Solid public university with strong practical CS focus. Excellent, accessible professors who support students. Campus resources are good, though some tech infrastructure feels dated. Great value for the in-state tuition.

Montclair State University is a diverse institution located in upper Montclair, New Jersey. My first year college experience was a memorable one because of the commuters and students that I met during my college years. I learned about a lot about the metropolitan cities and transportation which allowed me to grow as a college student and achieve autonomy.

I had a unique experience at Montclair State University. During that time I was exposed to the realm of health and physical education ecosystem. I was taught by very knowledgeable professors who not only helped me academically but also were there during my time of emotional need after my Father passed away. The school did an excellent job in understanding and cooperating during the times of my family hardship.

Attending Montclair State University helped to shape me into the person I am today. It was a well-rounded education and I was able to take many different classes from various backgrounds. The professors were one of the university's greatest assets.

The school was overall great, close to commute to, and impactful professors. The parking situation was not great. You are required to pay for a parking pass, and rarely find parking on campus. Leaving at least an hour before your class was a must, if you wanted any hope to find a parking spot.

MSU has a fantastic Acting program. While it may not be the best in the country, the school's affordability along with it's incredible staff make it top notch in my book. The program is rigorous but extremely rewarding. Each year the program grows in both size and prestige producing a number of working professionals which should be the goal of school worth its salt. I highly recommend MSU to any and all who are looking to pursue a career in Theatre.

This program was set up to allow me to continue working at my job that i love while improving my skills and positioning me for a promotion and raise. The faculty were all experts in their field and through the speaker series we were offered access to high level professionals.
