The professors are great however, there is a reason this school costs half than others... I have had sooo many issues with MSUB due to administration giving you the runaround, changing classes or class environments (online or in person) without any notification day of semester changes. They make everything a lot more difficult than needed with processes, returns, or anything regarding the school I would really not recommend this school unless you are willing to deal with often challenges.

I loved my professors and the classes that I took while at MSU-Billings. I loved the small town feel of campus and the close relationship I built with my peer, advisors and professors. Everyday I went to class I felt that I was entering a friendly discussion with peers in an environment of no judgment. The actual town of Billings was a perfect place for me to grow into a young adult. I went into education and with it being such a large city, I had many opportunities for observation hours, practicum,... Read More

Degree: Nursing
Montana complains of nurse shortages, yet MSUB turns away potentially awesome future nurses, with 3.8-4.0 GPAs. They only accept 15 of approximately 40 or so applicants. This doesn't seem like the way to go about alleviating that shortage of nurses, to me. Way to keep that nursing demand up MSUB and Montana!

MSU-Billings is an NCATE accredited university with all the benefits of a large university while maintaining that small campus feel. You work directly with professors instead of being a one of a hundreds traveling through the system. I highly recommend MSU-Billings for anyone interested in education. The teacher education program provided many opportunities to be in a classroom prior to even starting your student teaching experience. This allowed me to have a great start to a career that I still... Read More

Montana State University Billings allowed for ultimate flexibility in my schedule so that I could complete my degree and still maintain a full time job as well as be a wife and mother. I appreciated that the classes were flexible and that people working for the university were helpful and friendly. I have not had to go to campus once to complete my degree program. I felt that the counseling program offered a wide variety of knowledge. I feel that it would benefit from a little more guidance and clearer... Read More

Montana State University-Billings is a small school, and while some may worry about the drawbacks commonly associated with that, the atmosphere is personal and the education was excellent. The professors care about their students, their success, their opinions. Class discussions were invariably lively, insightful, and enriching to a full educational experience.

Montana State University Billings gives students the opportunity to experience college, while still providing the small community where everyone is able to communicate. While this community provides the opportunity to foster relationships with instructors, the university provides excellent rigor. This allows for the student to learn and actually retain the knowledge to be able to move into career or graduate school programs.

MSUB is a great school to go to if you want a smaller community and to feel involved in the things that happen on campus. I love the one on one time I'm always able to get in order to get help in a class. There is a friendly atmosphere. The instructors, professors, and they care about you and your learning and are always approachable. Smaller class sizes mean more one-to-one attention and a better chance at success.

I enjoyed MSU-Billings, the professors were easy to work with and knowledgeable. Advisors put you on the right track to not waste time or money. My only complaints would be the lack of cooperation between Montana schools and when I transfer to MSU-Billings from Missoula a semester of my credits didn't count towards my degree. Also in the education department I think there should be more "involved" courses to help us work with students. And more teaching strategies classes.

Throughout high school, our teachers always warned us not to take them for granted because once we reached college, the professors would not take the time to help us individually. After experiencing college, I realized that they were wrong. Nearly every college professor that I have taken a class with has been incredibly helpful in every way that he or she could. Because of them and because of the inviting environment, I actually wanted to go to class everyday. Not only were instructors helpful,... Read More

Montana State University of Billings is a college full of many opportunities. My first year as a freshman has been wonderful, but difficult. My major is Pre-Med/Biology and it is a major that is packed with useful information. This major definitely requires a lot of studying as well as dedication. However, eventhough I have chosen a difficult major, I didn't let this stop me from being involved on campus. Every weekend I attend a campus event and try to help my community. Along with this, I take... Read More

Overall, I would recommend Montana State University- Billings hands down to future/transfer students. I am in the Radiology Technician program so I constantly needed advice from my advisor (Kirtlye) regarding which classes to take, when, and how to go about cramming everything into less semesters so I wouldn't spend my whole life in school. She did just that and more. Plus, she made it very easy to come to her, unlike my advisor at MSU-Bozeman who was far to busy to ever be seen. I would have to... Read More
