Michigan State University has a beautiful campus with lots of green space and a great atmosphere. The academics are solid, and in the BLD program the professors are very supportive and approachable, making classes engaging and helping students succeed.

I enjoyed that vast majority of my time at MSU. One of my critiques would be how some of the biology classes were organized, where you watch the lectures ahead of time and come in to complete the work. That set up is not productive for how I learn, I would have taken an online class if I wanted to try and learn everything through a video. I personally benefit more from in person lectures and learning.

Michigan State offered a well-rounded experience both academically and socially. The Psychology department had knowledgeable professors who were accessible outside of class. Campus resources like career services and counseling were helpful. Class sizes were manageable and allowed for good discussions. My only criticism is that some administrative processes felt disorganized. Overall, a solid choice for students looking for a balance of academics and campus life.

I really enjoyed my time at Michigan State University. I thought it was a great schoool. I dont think I used all the activities that the school provided completely to my advantage. I could have joined more clubs or particiapted in the school culture more. One thing that is good about MSU is the diversity. There are a lot of people of different backgrounds that attend there.

Michigan State University made me into the man that I am today. Without it, I would not have gone on to work as a consultant in Georgia, I would not have earned my Master's degree from Georgia Tech, and I definitely would not have gone on for a PhD at USC. It made me a more confident and understanding person who accepts everyone with open arms. And the campus is truly gorgeous. Some of my best friends today are those I met on campus!

Michigan State is a great school for those looking to meet new people and also get a good education. It has one of the most beautiful campuses I have ever seen. It is also huge and will meet a variety of students from around the world. If you are looking to have a good time, this is the school to pick!

Degree: Communications

I went into Michigan State University for Communication Arts and Sciences. I feel like the "promises" were always made by teachers to network and get you connected in the right places, that if you put in all the best practices then you would be lifted into good jobs. In my personal opinion (and I'm sure this isn't the case for everyone), I was greatly disappointed. It was a good chance to explore many different topics, skill paths, etc. However, once all is said and done, post graduate assistance... Read More

Michigan State University was the best choice I could have made for myself. I loved the constant energy of being at a Big Ten school that focused both on athletics and education. It was important that I was an environment that was very social with things to do, but also centered on developing my education.

MSU is a great place to be and great student culture! No matter who you are, you will find your people there, and it's a great place to find a professor to be your mentor and learn from. I enjoyed so much of my years there, and the friends I made at MSU are some of the greatest people I've ever met. My professors helped me land a valuable career after graduation as well!

I owe my career success to everything at Michigan State University has taught me. It has the best in the country education regarding Packaging Science and because of the reputation of the program, I've had the chance to work with several large consumer goods companies. It provided me a great foundation in packaging knowledge and readied me for any packaging career right from graduation. I also think the university provided me with alumni network assistance in job searching and networking so that... Read More

Michigan State University is a college that taught me just what I needed to get my degree as quick as possible so I could get to my goals quickly. It does have many available routes and an active, fun culture around it which is nice but can make you forget about your academics. It is very much a university that will give you what you put in to it.

I loved my experience at MSU. I think it is a great school with a wide variety of opportunities. The people I met while there are still some of my best friends, and the things I learned in classes helped me get through medical school. The school balances good academics, good sports, and good people/social life. Would highly recommend people considering MSU to tour their campus; it is absolutely beautiful and amazing.

MSU offers a wide variety of courses and programs so it’s pretty easy to find out what you want to study. It is very big which has its pros and cons. There is a relatively diverse student body as well as a ton of resources available for students. However it is easy to get lost in the population meaning there are some very large classes and it may be harder to connect with professors.

I took the online Masters program in Pharmacology and Toxicoloy. The classes were self paced, but with a syllabus and schedule that you did need to follow. I felt less stress because I could do the course work on my own time, within the parameters of exams and due dates. I would recommend the program.

When I was choosing a college, I applied to and toured dozens of schools looking. When I stepped on to Michigan State's campus, I just felt something internally that made me realize maybe I did belong here. The vibes of campus, the level of education, and the supportive feeling were all things that kept me here through graduation. My biggest regret is not staying longer!

MSU was an incredible school. It has a very large network in the U.S. and abroad, and alumni + professors are always willing to help current students and graduates with any academic or professional experience. My particular major/college probably has some of the most brilliant professors and researchers who provided a foundational knowledge for my particular area of study. Michigan State University gave meaning to my career goals. Even as an international student without funding, I completed my program without a single debt. I have great mentors who only cared about how I could achieve my goals and reach beyond my desired heights. All through my years at MSU, racism was only a thing I heard on the news. I felt welcome in my classrooms and among my professors, and I received the best support, up to the point of getting my job and negotiating my first salary after graduation.... Read More

MSU was honestly the place that pushed me without taking itself too seriously. Big campus energy but still feels like you can find where you belong. Real hands on stuff, real people, and professors who actually challenge you instead of talking at you. MSU gives you room to experiment, take risks, and actually make stuff happen. It’s not just classes, it’s where you start figuring out what you can actually do.
