The Lipscomb campus is beautiful and is not far from downtown Nashville. The Mental Health Counseling Program prepares students to begin working in the field. I have enjoyed all of the professors and felt they had invaluable knowledge to share with the students. The program is CACREP certified and the instructors are invested in the student's success in becoming a licensed professional.

I received my Masters in Leadership when the program initially started. It was a great concept and I learned a lot, but the staff lacked diversity. I had the same professors for multiple classes. I think the program has come a long way since.

The best aspect about Lipscomb University specially in my Computer Engineering major is the quality of education provided. The department of engineering included various faculty members who have earned their experience during both professional and academic settings. This helped in providing the perfect mix of instruction potential and advice. They almost always had the appropriate guidance with respect to a variety of educational and career queries.

Lipscomb is a wonderful campus located in a very safe neighborhood in Nashville, TN. The faculty and staff support student growth academically, athletically, and spiritually. I cannot think of a better place to go for the "total package" experience. The Communication Department in particular is a growing department with several knowledgeable professors who engage students in current new media practices and challenge them to grow through real-world assignments. However, regulations from the higher... Read More

Lipscomb University is highly ranked for its College of Education program. I left the program feeling very confident in my course work and ready to begin my career as an educator. I was hired quickly in my home state and love my everyday job teaching 2nd grade!

The Lipscomb Master's in Civic Leadership program was one that had a greater impact on my career and my life as a whole. This program is a true reflection of the possibilities and potential to influence the world around you from what you learn in the classroom. From hybrid courses that are offered to the use of technology and networking on-site at community activities, the skills developed over this 15-month course program being day one in acclimating you to the change agent that you can in the community.... Lipscomb University has a fabulous Adult Degree Program that is perfect for people like me who are returning to complete a college degree after many years. The combination of lecture and online classes is great for busy working adults who must split their time between family, work and school.

The graduate programs are incredibly competitive. I am currently in a cohort of about 16 students in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program. It's a pricey school, but perhaps worth the money. This program is accredited, which makes their graduates a shoe-in for jobs. The admissions process was very scrambled, so be persistent. Call any department that you've submitted a form to and make sure they have it on file! The professors are incredibly friendly and easy to work with. The workload is... Read More

I have been very impressed with the quality of classes. The experience of professors and students make for a rich learning environment with a unique insight to the Nashville business world. Nashville is a wonderful city, but cost of living and transportation issues do make it more difficult to live close to city and campus. The professors, however, are fully aware of the constraints of living, working, and attending school and make assignments manageable.

Lipscomb is a great school with a strong set of moral standards and a intense understanding of what kind of school they want to be. The best recommendation I could give an incoming student is to know what you are getting your self into before you commit. If you find the campus life and curriculum worth the price, than you should go all in, however if there is something you find off-putting, keep searching.

The M.MFT Program at Lipscomb is still very new and so some of the expected "kinks" have not yet been worked out yet. The biggest con is that there is only one Graduate Assistantship available to each cohort and no other kinds of financial aid available, meaning most of us are taking out large amount of loans while also attempting to continue to work full time and balance that with also being full time students. That said, I have been more than pleased with my experience thus far. My professors are... Read More

The pros include: small class sizes, opportunities for professional growth, and professors that are highly accessible, qualified, professional, and considerate. The cons are the choice of courses from semester to semester, financial aid (small number of scholarships & the office in itself)

Great and knowledgeable faculty. The classes are both challenging and engaging. The only con is the availability of courses. All courses are only offered at the main campus and only a few courses are offered per semester. This makes it difficult to juggle work and family with school.
